  2. Ok, so now I am getting frustrated....maybe I shouldn't get on the scale, but I am only down 11 pounds since my 10/18/12 surgery! I can tell I am losing inches, but I want to see the scale move! Is it because I am not eating enough? Drinking enough? Surgeon is happy with everything, but I just thought I would be further along...

  9. I to am in the healthcare field, and your rights were definitely violated! As the other bandsters have stated, "you are doing this for you, and no one else!" I too, would be very upset about being confronted like that. I hope you understand that it is out of jealousy about you taking this big step to get healthy...you showed how strong you are in making the first step (getting banded) and taking charge of your weight and health. For me, I have told no one in my family...only my husband knows. They will notice I have lost weight, but they will also notice I am eating smaller meals, getting exersize and drinking more Water...making healthy choices... Hang in there, believe in you and remember you have support from all of us who stand with you in making this our new life!

  20. I am now 9 days post op (dos: 10/18/12) and 9 pounds lost! I had to do a double take this morning when I got on the scale! The pain is manageable, and my body definitely tells me when I have done too much! I feel asleep outside on the hammock yesterday for 3 hours! Still trying to get my fluids in as best I can. I do get hungry and try to drink hot tea or broth, as that helps me feel full. I go back to work Monday (full moon and a Monday in the medical field..oh boy!) So I have my little emergency kit in my purse: goody's powder, gasX strips, packages of boullion and tea! (bringing the liquid Lortab, just in case!) LOL! Hoping everyone is doing well and feeling better and recovering worry-free!
  21. What about creany Peanut Butter? I Im 1 week post op and tried a little bit of fish tonight in a little bit of an egg side dish and I am just all suffering....So I will do liquids all day tomorrow just to try to get my body back on track hope you all are having a successful a time as I am trying to! So who had the surgery on the same day I did October 18th, What has it been like you and what is your meal planning been like for yiu? Sent from my VS920 4G using LapBandTalk
  22. I made sure i picked up some. Antivert/meclazine. It's basically the same thing you use for travel sickness it's an antiemetic, Walgreens carries them just ask the pharmacist. Sent from my VS920 4G using LapBandTalk
  23. I graduated in 1987 from VBHS!! Go Indians is right!!! My family does not know I had this done, just my hubby and a few people at work. I am doing this for me, so I prefer not to get co-workers and friends involved! LOL!
  24. Hi there! I am Amy, 43 and very happily married with no kids (3 furry ones at least!) My husband thinks I am perfect the way I am, however for me (and this is FOR ME) my body was becoming a stranger to me, and I look into the mirror and see how I have neglected it. So After a year of research and serious contemplation, I decided to "Go For It!" So I had my surgery done on 10/18/12 at Palms of Pasadena. My surgeon is John P. Gonzalvo, MD. The first 48hours were probably the most painful as the gas they inflated me with was excessive, like tie a string on me and fly me! My husband told me that my band is actually lower than where the surgeon wanted to place it, because apparently on of my arteries is abnormally large and instead of going "up" it goes "down" (going to have to get out my Biology book...!) I feel pretty amazing today, and was glad to see on my post op food list I can have baby rice cereal! Still having some gas pain , but not like it was!! Was able to take the bandages off last night and take a shower, had a little queasy moment after removing them...but it's all good. I know I have never looked forward to having a bowel movement so much in my life! So I am looking forward to that as well! Glad to have this site and look forward to the journey with all of you!
