  1. You look amazing !! i was banded on Monday and it is great to see this type of results.
  2. Thanks to all that responded to my earlier post. I was banded on Monday and had to stay in the hospital until Wed afternoon due to severe nausea. I have had severe diarrhea since I came home on Wed. Yesterday I changed clothes 7 times. The doctor's office called to check in and they said if I still had it today to call and come in. Unfortunately it is back. They put me on full liquids ( no Protein shakes) and I have to call back if I still have it this afternoon. My husband is worried and not that great with illness. He made a stupid comment about why I put myself thru all this. I know why and I don’t regret my decision but I am a little down now. I know that this will pass soon and I will be back on track and I know my husband is saying stupid things out of worry. Has anyone had a similar situation? Any suggestions?
  3. I was banded on Monday and the funny thing is I felt great on Monday. At least 5 hospital staff told me I looked great !! My doctor requires and overnight stay and I woke up Tuesday to a whole different ball game. Severe nausea to the point that they wouldn't discharge me until Wed afternoon. They think it was a reaction to the narcotics so I am not allowed to take any pain medicine. Trying to suck it up , drink and walk but now I have severe yellow diarehea( sorry to be so graphic). I thought I prepared myself but I am so sick and I just want to cry, I am sure if will get better but I just wanted to hear that from someone who has been there.
  4. Hi Rogen62 and Newbi, My surgery is also tomorrow. Seems like Sunday is the LONGEST day ever. I am sure we will all do great!! Talk to you on the other side
  5. Thank you all!! Feeling better and I am going to stay focussed on the prize. Rongena62, Good Luck to you on Monday also!! I am sure that we will both do great. I also have clothes in ALL sizes and I do look forward to wearing things that I haven't in a long time.
  6. So my surgery is Monday and I have been fine up until this morning, I did well on Thanksgiving (even went to the gym in the morning) but I am on clear liquids until Monday, For some reason I am emotional this morning. I am crying at the drop of a hat. I was fine with the shakes but the thought of water and broth for 3 days seems overwhelming. My family has been great but they expect me to be able to be the same as always and are taking it personally that I am not just smiling away. Trying to stay positive. I made myself a bracelet on Friday that has my new motto ( I can, I must , I will ) to try and keep focussed. I want to get back to thin person I used to be. Was anyone else emotional leading up to the surgery?
  7. Congratulations!!! I am having my surgery on Monday and this is a HUGE inspiration.
  8. I am scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving. Should be an interesting holiday since I am not sharing my surgery with my inlaws yet. I am a little nervous because i have a surgery date but I have not been approved by insurance yet. Not being submitted for approval until November 8th. Oh well I guess they know what they are doing. I have already lost 6 or the 12 pounds the doctor wants me to lose. They require you to lose 5% before surgey so I am halfway there and I still have a month. Looking forward to sharing this journey with my fellow November bandsters
  9. Great Job!! As someone waiting to get it done I LOVE the before and after stories/pictures.. SO inspirational. Did you lose 71 pounds since your surgery?
  10. I dont drink coffee and I get all my caffeine from Diet Coke. I am hoping my surgey is November 26th so I thought I would start trying to quit now !!! The withdrawls are giving me an awful headache, I thought better now than when I have all the other post surgery symptoms to contend with, Anyone been thru this ? I would appreciate any suggestions? Doesnt help that I work for Coca Cola !!
  11. I had my first visit with the surgeon today and I was shocked to see how much I really weighed. I guess it is easy to rationalize when you dont get on a scale. For the first time I didnt cry. The time for crying is gone now is time for action. I went to a women's leadership conference last week and one of the speakers was a breast cancer survivor. Her moto was I can, I must , I will. I am going to borrow this for my journey. The hard part is my husband's job is being outsourced on 12/1. Thankfully he is just changing employers but it maybe different insurance so I have to have my surgey before then. The race it on !
