  1. My first fill was 2cc's which ended up being a big mistake and caused me a lot of pain and even more money in medical costs. It would have been better to have started out with a little less... I never expected to start with that big of a fill. I am now perfectly restricted at less than that original 2cc's. Darcy
  2. *slurp* mmmmm...mmmmm.... love my coffee! So glad everything is goinf so well Miss Betty! You are really working hard with your band and that hard work is paying off! WTG! Darcy
  3. That's soooooooooo doggone sweet Miss Betty!!!! Just imagine what you'll get when there is a reason. Darcy
  4. OMIGOD Penni... that is soooooo adorable! I may just have to run down to Target and get one for myself! Wait... it's like 35 below outside with the windchill... hmmm... maybe not...lol. It is so wonderful that you see the fantastic woman that all of us see everytime you post. John is a very lucky man indeed. (((hugs))) Darcy
  5. My sister had the RNY... I watched veeeeerrrryyyy carefully as she went through the process and decided I was not up for the recovery that she had to go through. Also... she is 2 years out and joining weight watchers this week due to regain. She still looks terrific and still feels she made the right decision for herself. I just wasn't willing to take the extra risk... I like that my GI tract is functioning just as God intended. I am so happy with my choice and my sister's husband is now in the process for approval for the Lapband. Wishing you the best as you make your decision... I think the pro's and con's list is a great idea! Darcy
  6. All surgeon's should have a nurse and or nurses to triage post-op health issues and should have their office staff trained in customer service. I also think that fills for the first year should be included in the cost for surgery. Darcy
  7. Welcome to bandland! Sending wishes to you for a speedy recovery! Darcy
  8. Sounds like you are pretty well prepared! I have heard that some feel good enough to go shopping the same day... I can't imagine that! I was darn sore especially when sitting for any length of time... I really didn't feel up to an outing until day 3 post-op. We did go to the Milwaukee Zoo on day 6 post-op... that was a mistake. I think it would have been fine if we hadn't done such a huge amount of walking over a long period of time. The worst discomfort I had post-op was at my port site... riding in a car really seemed to irritate that area or sitting up straight for a long period of time. Good luck and congrats! Darcy
  9. Hi Connie, I think the first fill is the worst... mostly due to the anxiety of not knowing what to expect. The only pain I felt was the poke for the numbing medicine and a bit of a burn that went along with it. After that... it was just a sensation of pressure. Once I got over the fear of the whole thing... twas a breeze. Darcy
  10. Mary... you look absolutely beautiful and you are definitely an inspiration! You have a great outlook and I'm sure you can do anything you put your mind to! Darcy
  11. Hi Tammy... I am a stomach sleeper as well... I couldn't sleep on my tummy for a couple of weeks after surgery... then... I could but it felt a bit strange because I could feel my port... now... no probs... sleep on my tummy every night!
  12. Katie... great pic... you guys make a beautiful couple! Jane... looks like fun... I think...lol. You look great and adorable little ones! Darcy
  13. Congratulations and wishing you a speedy recovery! Darcy
  14. Oh dear... sorry to hear that! Hopr you feel better soon! (((hugs))) Darcy
  15. I'll try... dloeffler@new.rr.com Darcy
  16. I'm going to check it out too... thanks! I don't think there is a gym nearby... but what the heck! Darcy
  17. I wish I could Penni... I feel like I live in Siberia...sooooooo far away! Hope everyone has fun though! Darcy
  18. That's awesome Angela! WTG!!!! You are going to have many more great weigh-ins! Welcome to bandland! Darcy
  19. Congrats Katie! We really kicked butt this past week!
  20. Seppi... I think a lot of us have had some of the feelings you have been experiencing... especially right before surgery. I had to admit that I was great at dieting... just not great at lifetime change and therefore... I gained it all back plus more. I needed a tool that would help me make lifetime changes... I got it. I still have to work with this band of mine and you will too... it's not the easy way out... it's just an effective one. Wishing you the best! Darcy
  21. Slap Greg... hug the rest of us. Good luck with your fill Ro... maybe you will hit your sweet fill spot with this one! WTG Becky Lee!!! The ink didn't even get a chance to dry on that changed signature!
  22. Hi Mary... hope you get well soon! Until then... you should be able to take any kind of liquid cold medicine... just make sure it doesn't contain ibuprofen. I am able to take capsules/tablets with out a problem... hope that helps.
  23. Yay Melissa, Greg, Michelle and Pat!!!! I guess this means the Holiday season is safely behind us! Pat... good luck with your first fill!!! Darcy
  24. Congrats Greg! Nobody has any doubts about your performance talents. I've been sitting here reflecting on the week... you know what... I really didn't deprive myself... we even went out for dinner one night... BUT... I cut out the snacking and tried to stick with mostly Protein. I am actually amazed that following the most basic bandster rules really made such a big difference. I don't expect that this coming week will bring me as nice of a weight loss but I'm tickled that I am moving forward instead of backwards!
  25. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.... I lost the 6 lbs I had gained... PLUS... one more to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am pretty darn happy with that. In my wildest dreams I had hoped to just undo the damage I had done ... getting an exta pound is a major bonus! Hope everyone had a great week! Darcy
