  1. I'm almost 4 wks post op down 30 lbs. and met with my NUT yesterday and she has me in 800 to 1100 calories a day, plus 64 oz of water per day - I walk 3 to 4 miles every day and is working out very well. I average about 800 to 900 calories per day. When I start jogging it may be a different story.

  5. I was told corned need hash puréed is a good one -- or make a beef stew for your family minus the potatoes and puree that -- not very pleasing to the eye but tasty and has protein. I add unflavored Syntrax nectar protein to everything - chamomile tea, sf pudding, crystal lite, soup, cream of wheat, etc. make sure when you add into hit liquids not to exceed 130 degrees. I am 11 days post of and down 21.5 lbs ... Walking 2 plus miles a day and eager for puréed entree on Monday!!!!!????????????

  9. Yes I qualify and my last 5 yrs of weight history has been submitted to UHC. Curious on what the scale reads say 3 mos post op?
  10. Or is this not big enough to qualify for sleeve ????
  11. Where r u at now? Anyone???
  12. Anyone have any opinion on this facility and its surgical team? I started this journey on 9/25 and have United Health Care Choice Plus 2.....waiting for ins approval ????
  13. What is a cpap that you had to do before surgery?
  14. That's encouraging that you were approved w/ similar #'s. hopefully my file will be submitted tomorrow. I have supplied all my weights for the past 5 years and are all in the range of plus or minus 10 lbs. It is all I can think about.
  15. I was quoted an estimate of $20k -- that is not an option I hope for :-(
  16. I am doing all the required seminars, nutrition classes but have on hold the gallbladder ultrasound, sleep apnea test, psych test, endoscopy until I get approval (fingers crossed) from United. 233 lbs , bmi 39.4, one existing comorbidity, 46 years old. Anyone in the same boat?
  17. Surgeon recommended sleeve for me considering amount to lose, plus absorbtion issues with GB, no dumping with sleeve, your spinchter muscle is left in tact (YUK) and very minimal follow-up! Was a well run office, huge staff, go back to meet with nutrionist, need ultrasounds on GI and stomach, sleep study, psych visit. That's it for now Been thinking of our conversation alot today -- I appreciate your advise!

  20. Well, went today and the surgeon suggested sleeve for a few reasons. No absorbtion or dumping issues as with RNY, minimal follow up, no rearranging of the spinchter muscle (yuk) right choice for my weight loss goals, great results - I guess my stomach will be the size of a banana??
