  1. Hi everyone! I was banded on September 21st. I feel like crap still
  2. Hi everyone! I was banded on September 21st. This whole experience has been pretty surreal, I only went for my consult on Wednesday, September 19th. Since I was self-pay, everything went SUPER fast....faster than I had ever anticipated. While I am so thankful to have it done, I think being 3 days post-op and feeling like crap I am feeling sad about this. I feel like I am never going to fee "okay" again. He also repaired an umbilical hernia (I had no idea I had it!) so I am not sure if I feel crappy because of that. The gas pains from the surgery, down into my back and shoulders, were absolutely AWFUL. For pain I have nasty, liquid Loratab 7.5. I'm not sure if it does much, but I take 2 TBS every 4 hours. I also have phenergan 25mg that I have to crush and take. Haven't really been needing those as much today.... Right now it is hard to envision life where I can go out for dinner, etc. I feel like the only things I'll be eating are jello, slim fast, and broth for the rest of my life
  3. My orders say I can't start yogurt or purees until week 3. I think next week (Week 2) I can start soups, etc. I am doing really good with my protein shakes (Well, slim fast) each day but that's about it. I feel SO full fromt hem.
  4. I keep feeling this gagging, pressure sensation. Kind of feels like I need to burp of vomit, but it's deeper than that. I notice it more if I am laying back and I drink. Anyone else experiencing this? Also, and I am not wanting to go and drink or anything....lol...but how long until I can have like a small glass of wine again? There is a wedding I am going to on October 6th and didn't want to be completely obvious that I had something done. (I'm not ashamed of my surgery, I just have not shared it with EVERYONE yet)
  5. I just wanted to update. I had my consult with Dr. Felix Spiegel on Wednesday, I was banded on FRIDAY. This has been quite the emotional rollercoaster, and a little bit more painful than I expected. I also had an umbilical hernia he had to repair. I have a bunch of questions, but I will go the right forum for those! Thanks everyone for commenting
  6. I am actually not living in the Houston area right now, but Colorado. I just feel like there are more skilled surgeons in Texas (I swear there are NO overweight people in Colorado!) I would be able to fly back and forth as frequent as I needed to....I am calling True results in the morning. Right now I am scheduled to fly home on October 8th but I can switch my flights if needed.
  7. My BMI is 39.3 and I am hoping to make an appointment with a doctor tomorrow morning. My insurance will not cover it so I am going to be self-pay. What is a realistic time frame for surgery? I would LOVE to have it done by October 5th. (Today is September 18th) I am also looking for a doctor in the Houston area, so far I have turned up Dr. Spiegel & Dr. Spivak. I am miserable. I have tried everything, every diet, every drug, I exercise, I did Insanity....I miss feeling good about myself.
