  1. I was looking for this exact question....I had the stomach flu last weekend. I hadn't considered asking the doctor what to do if this ever happened, I didn't think of it! I had such terrible stomach cramps and nausea, all night. I wanted to vomit, but couldn't. I didn't call the doctor - my clinic is 2 1/2 hours away from my house. And I knew the local ER would have no idea what to do. So I suffered for the next day. NOW I know that I need to have a script ready for the nausea. I am seeing my doctor next week, and I know I don't need a fill, but I will get a script for medication. I just figured that I lost extra weight, so it wasn't all bad!
  2. I'm Sally, age 51, and this is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I have been obese for most of my life. I could go up and down, but mostly up. When I developed diabetes 3 years ago, I thought that would be the reason for me to lose weight on my own. It wasn't. I had the lapband done on March 8th, in Ypsilanti MI, by Dr. Kam. He is the best - even though he is the only one I know! With his help and encouragement, the support of the staff and dietician, I have lost over 40 lbs. I started at 230 plus lbs, and now am in the 180's! It does take work, and excersize, to lose, but the difference - both psychologically and physically, is amazing. There are ways to cheat with this procedure, and it does take the determination to lose, but this is the most effective weight loss tool for me. I don't take any more medications for diabetes, and I am so much more active, and happy to get into the next size down! Everyone is different, but I am very happy with my decision!
  3. Hi, I had my lapband on 3-8-07. It went well, and I am feeling better every day. I have had no problems. just the discomfort in the left shoulder, and around the insicions. Can anyone clue me in on what to expect as far as bowel movements? (Hate to sound so earthy on the first message!)
