Right after surgery, when you can't eat solids, it's hard. I didn't cook. And when I had to prepare my kids Breakfast and lunch, I made things with little to no smell (Cereal, sandwiches, etc). Husband popped popcorn about 4 days post op and I thought I was gonna kill him lol.
As for further out, I make the same things for the family as myself but eat smaller portions. My family is eating healthier now because I am. Less bread and Pasta (tho I do still eat it in moderation). More Protein and vegetables. They just eat a bigger portion. And for things like sandwiches, I have low cal bread but my kids have regular whole wheat bread. I have low fat cheese sticks, they have regular ones. (they are very thin and can use the extra fat) etc etc.

The first place people notice when I lose weight is my face. I can lose 100 lbs and they say"Oh you've lost weight. I can see it in your face." Have you e er seen 100lbs on a face?!?

When I was on full liquids I was allowed those things. I had sugar free pudding and applesauce all the time. I ate a lot of runny oatmeal, too.
I was told that if it ran off the back of a spoon easily, I could consider it a full liquid.
I was on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks then full liquids for 2 weeks. Needless to say by the time I got to mushy food at week 5, I was starving lol.

Hey there. I just got banded on 8/30! I'm finally excited about this journey. Has a bunch of complications with my insurance, but the day actually arrived. I'm 28 relatively healthy, but just obese since childhood.
This Clear liquids is about to kill me. Everything us just so sweet! The only thing I want is milk BC it's not too sweet. (I did put a French fry in my mouth today and spit it back out...smh just a shame but I know i'm not alone!)
I have 11 more days of clear then I get to move to full for 2 Weeks...I hope I can make it lol!
I'm already feeling much better, I can lay down all the way and I don't need any assistance getting up or anything. I'm walking around with relative ease and I only took a Tylenol today.
Just the gas under my left shoulder is about to knock me out. I can't take it!
