  1. Yes my doctor said only 3 ounces at a time and they are the ones that said carnation instant breakfast.
  2. I was tempted to do that but my doctor says no yogurt or soft foods until my follow up on the 12th, uggghhh
  3. No, I have only been sipping. I'm not dehydrated or anything so I know I'm getting enough fluids I just feel so hungry. I don't know why because I was doing so good and then wham I'm starving, lol
  4. I am still on clear liquids alternating with protein shakes or carnation instant breakfast but only 3 ounces 3 times a day. I have tried the Atkins and now myoplex but I'm still hungry
  5. Am 7 days post op today and for whatever reason I am starving. I had no hunger or anything the first 6 days but today I am so hungry. I also am having way more shoulder and back pain today then any other day. I was just coasting through recovery and then today I don't know what is going on. Any suggestions to keep full longer and any suggestions for the back and shoulder pain. I have done gas x, heating pad and tons of walking and it's still there :-(
  6. I had my surgery Tuesday and went back to work Thursday. I didn't really have pain but I was definitely much slower getting around and still sore. It feels as if you have done 500 sit ups in a row. I definitely still had the referred pain in my shoulders from the air. I guess it really depends on your pain tolerance.
  7. Had my surgery on Tuesday 8/28. I am still on my liquid phase until tomorrow when I am suppose to go back to the protein shakes until I see the dr on September 12. Today is the best that I have felt, minimal gas pain in my shoulder and slept the best last night. Questions or everyone, I am dying for a coffee, this water is killing me. Did anyone have coffee in the liquid phase post op? I am not sure that I have felt hungry but I find it hard to continually drink the water. Every time I take a sip I feel pressure in my chest and I am having a hard time getting all the liquids in, I really would just like a warm coffee. I know they say wa tea but i do not like tea :-(
  8. Hello everyone. I am new to this site, just signed up today. I have been reading all of the forums and cant believe all of the great info I am getting. I am curently at day 4 of my 5 day pre op diet, boy has it been hard. I started with a weight of 213.6, Day 2 I weighed 210.0, Day 3 i weighed 206.0 and today is Day 4 and I weighed this morning 202.0. my surgery date is tomorrow and I am so unsure of what to expect. Everyone's responses have been so different. I am hoping to be back to work fairly quickly. I started my journey in March of 2012, went to the orientation and then has my first appointment with my surgeon in April. I must say the nurtrition part and the phychictric evaulations went very quickly. I seen the physchiatrist 1 time and the nutritionist 2 times before the approved me for the surgery. I was approved with my insurance company on the first attempt after 3 days and now surgery is tomorrow. All in all its only been 4 months and I am all set to go. Anyone have any advice for me as far as what to expect after surgery tomorrow and pain wise????
