  1. Ok, I am not sure why you are getting this done if you cant stop with this abusive eating. Your supposed to do pre op eating for a good reason. First, it cleanses your system out, so you will feel better and clean going into surgery. Second, when you eat all the stuff your eating, it causes your liver to enlarge with fat, thus making it harder for your liver to be moved out of the way to get to your stomach. You need to do at least one week of a pre op diet as most physicians will tell you.
  2. My wife and I are both going to get our VSG done that day with them. How are the facilities there, how are the drs? I am more than alittle nervous..Thanks.
  3. Hi there. My wife and I are going to have them do our VSGs Sept 19th. I have read a good many positive things about them. They are young and fantastic surgeons. We are coming in from Dallas, TX to PV. I think we made the right choice. We were looking at a few of the drs, but the kicker to me was that the surgury is done in a hospital, not a clinic. They are putting us up at the Marriott, which is right on the beach, and we can fly in direct from DFW in about 2 hours or so. We looked at them, Ortiz, Joya, Alverez and a few others. They all are good, I am sure. The problem with alvarez is that it is a 7 hour drive to the border, and he is alot more expensive. Not that that makes all the difference in the world, but Lopez and Osuna come very highly regarded in this field, even by bariatric surgeons here in Dallas. That is a postive sign.
  4. Hi, I found this website, as I have been thinking about looking into getting lapband surgery done. I have had weight problems for a long time, tried many diets and nothing seems to work. I have cronic high blood pressure, sleep apnea as well. I dont have diabetes at this time, but my family has a history of it. I have lower back problems, joint problems, etc. My weight is 258 lbs right now. I am male, 6ft2. My bmi is around 33.8. I have Aetna insurance. Looks like they might cover it for me according to their website, with some conditions. Anyone have any insight into this?
