I have struggled with my weight all my life since age 10 or so. I wore Husky jeans and had a bit of a tummy. Diet pills, shakes, frozen meals, you name it, I tried it. I had periods of being normal sized when I was in law school and in the Army Reserves, and later at a second law school (did I mention I loved law school?), but after I hurt my knee falling off a horse in Australia, I wasn't able to exercise as well and I started taking psych meds that put on massive weight. I was in Overeaters Anonymous for about 10 years too - I have literally tried EVERYTHING.
Now, I am 5 days post-op and so far things are good. I have a bit of hope that I can recover to a normal size and be as active as I once was - I liked to kayak, fish, camp, run, bike, work out, so many things that were good for my body!
Here's to hope!
