  1. My husband lived in Baltimore for 5 years, we go back for visits & baseball games! Live in Pennsylvania now. :-)
  2. Cleaning out my closet & came across pants I was wearing at my highest weight. They are 26W & now I am in a size 12. Holy crap!! Lol
  3. So awesome! Congrats to you!!
  4. Pic from post op day 1 which was July 24, 2012 second pic was March 30, 2013. Pardon my horrible looking post surgery pic, I felt like crap! Lol
  5. Banded life is awesome!!! Thanks to you all!! Keep up the good work everyone!!
  6. Thank you so much. I started at 259lbs on July 23, today I am 149lbs. I bought capris today size 12, I was a size 26 when I first started this journey!! I am grateful!
  7. I am not sure how big my band is. I got a 2.5cc fill once when I was 6 wks post op. I haven't had any other fills. The nurse practicioner at my surgeons office said I am essentially going on sheer will power. She said as long as I keep losing, I won't get a fill & once my weight loss slows down then I can utilize fills for weight loss.
  8. What a life changing experience having my Lap-Band has been!! I have lost 110lbs since being banded July 23. People have said I don't even look like the same person. Although, I always see the inner fat girl, haha. I have been obese since childhood & I haven't always had much self-confidence. The last 2 months or so, I have noticed an increase in attention from many of my male co-workers. I am blown away by the increase in this extra attention & honestly, I am loving it!!! It gives me such a boost of confidence & I start thinking, "maybe I am good looking!" lol.
  9. Great news! Keep up the good work.
  10. Well, considering where I was, yes I will celebrate. No matter how silly it sounds.
  11. As of yesterday, my BMI was 29.8 which puts me out of the obesity category & into overweight. I was banded July 23, 2012 & my BMI the morning of surgery was 47.4. I have also kissed the plus size section of clothing stores goodbye!! I am so happy!! A year ago, I thought there was no hope for me, that I was going to live in obesity the rest of my life. Down 97lbs & just loving life. :-)
  12. Thank you!! I have some shopping to do!
  13. Thank you Lisa!! I appreciate that!
  14. Thank you so much! I will check them out for sure.
  15. This may be a silly thing to ask.... My goal for this summer is to run my first 5K. I have lost 83lbs since being banded July 23 & I have a fair amount of excess belly skin since losing the weight. I am determined to run a 5K this summer if it's the last thing I do! Is there anything anyone has tried to help with the excess skin bouncing/flapping around? I was thinking Spanx but unsure where to buy them or if they'd even work? I hope someone could give me some advice, I would appreciate it! Thanks!!
  16. Keep it up!! You look FABULOUS!!!
  17. I felt normal going into the 3rd week of recovery. I started taking walks, usually 1hr or so at that time too. I have a physically demanding job & was forced to take 6 wks off after surgery. I felt as though I could've went back to work & handled all the physical demands of my job going in to week 4 but my surgeon wouldn't release me back to full duty. My hubby had gastric sleeve surgery & was off for only a week. He's an accountant, so he just sits behind the desk. For the first couple days he left a little early but quickly got back in to the groove. Best of luck!
  18. Thank you everyone! When my hubby took the second pic on Wednesday, he showed me the pics side by side. Up until this point, I wouldn't/couldn't see a difference. I can honestly say, now, there is a difference! I had to share my excitement. Keep up the excellent work everyone!
  19. Lapbandster-I was banded July 23,2012. The picture on the left was taken July 25,2012. The picture on the right was taken November 21,2012. So, I guess that makes about 4 months time. Thank you for your kind words.
  20. Attached are 2 pictures. One picture was me 2 days post op on July 25. The other is a picture taken Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I have lost 70lbs & counting!!
  21. What a difference!! You look fabulous!! I understand what it's like to not see a difference in the mirror, we all do. I have been banded since July, I started being a size 26, now I fit comfortably in an 18. I still see the "fat girl" when I look in the mirror!! Trust me, I see the difference in your pictures!
  22. I was always told by my mother growing up that I wasn't pretty, my sister was the prettier one, I was fat, blah, blah. I have had a crappy self esteem for years. I have such an improved self esteem now, holy crap!! Still adjusting to my new body!!
  23. I have been banded since July 23, I have lost 67 lbs since pre-op diet. I haven't been this small in over 10 yrs since high school. I am a nurse at a hospital that, honestly, has it's share of good looking residents. Within the past couple weeks, I have noticed a little extra attention & actually noticed some flirtation from male staff members. Holy crap, I haven't had this kind of attention in forever & I still can't believe it. My old mindset still tells me they aren't interested, you're too fat, you're ugly, etc. I wonder if I'll ever get over that old perception of myself??
