I'm in my two week pro-op currently. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Yes you need to trust your surgeon but I understand wondering. If your extremely nervous you can look up statistics on your doctor. Past that you need to trust he/she knows what they're doing.
I agree this sounds like your gallbladder. I'm on the pre-op diet and and I can't feel my liver shrinking.
You also need to prepare your family that those fatty foods are not a fix, and will be off limits. Give them the diet packet you "should" get so they know what to expect.
I have the issue of gaining. I'm following the diet to the letter nothing extra they only put me on a semi-liquid diet yet its creeping back on I've called the dietician and asked her to call me. I didn't expect a big loss, but I also didn't expect to gain.

My surgery is August 2nd I've struggled with the physicians I have a extensive medical history and I believe it has scared them. Rather than admit that they have basically put in a road blocks in my path but I got around all of them. Now I'm in the semiliquid diet 2 weeks pror to surgery I'm nervous.
