ReeTee got a reaction from SeattleLady in KILLEEN/TEMPLE TEXAS2012 Sleeve 12/02/202 RVISION TO BYPASS
Starting 296lbs down to 189LBS MY LOWESET FIRST GO ROUND.
Started back drinking Cokes n Nos. Stopped walking and lifting. Over the next 2 years put weight went back up to 240. 2017-2019.
2020 decision was made when I was told about hernia if I had not had hernia like many of you who have chosen to do a revision. I would not have decided for it. Acid reflux was beating me down.
so Sleeve to Gastric bypass completed 12/02/2020. starting 236 lbs 12/20/2020 weight 212.8. Any Killeen/ Temple area folks hit me up no matter what year you come across this we are always trying to stay focus. ☮️

ReeTee reacted to NeverAgain297 in Pain at the opening of stomachI just wanted to give an update on my issue. I ended up going to the ER on the 27th of November because the pain while eating was not getting better. Infact, it seemed to be getting worse. On top of that it seemed that even just a couple bites of food or drink and I was vomiting. It turns out I have an ulcer. They've put me on some medication but I understand they can be pretty tricky to heal and that they can be easily re-agitated. I'm really only able to eat yogurt, creamy soup and baby food at this point. Even that hurts after a couple bites and makes me nauseous. I'm taking anti nausea medication, but it doesn't seem to help much. I'm trying to look on the bright side and tell myself I'm going to lose even more weight, faster but I miss eating.

ReeTee reacted to MaybeMeow2 in I am a food addict. And Bypass isn't a cure.Hi Gang. Meow here. 5.5 months post op bypass. I've had slow but steady losses. (SW:217 CW:178. GW: 150)
And I just felt the need to make a post about my sweet addiction. Before my surgery I found myself very concerned about dumping. Often asking in the forum whether Bypass meant I could never have treats again and being assured I could "eventually" or "a bite or two" or "in moderation" etc. This brought me great relief. I knew then I wasn't in the ideal frame of mind but I was doing the best I could.
I found at about 4 weeks post op I could tolerate about 5 of my favorite chocolate covered almonds and ate them every night as a reward for hitting my protein and water goals. Eventually I increased that to 10 choco almonds. Then it moved to other desserts or candy. What I've found is my entire eating plan is focused on getting my "healthys" in so I can have a treat at the end of the day. I become obsessed. I realize I've always been that way. Eat healthy so you can indulge.
I find I get nauseous if I eat a full portion of dessert. But I can usually get away with eating half. So I do. Every day. Or I eat the full portion and get nauseous. I get thru it. Usually lasts about 30 minutes. I feel miserable. I don't throw up. When I'm in the middle of the nausea I swear I'll never have sugar again. But then it passes and I'm the addict again.
The last couple months I've somehow justified 2 treats a day. And this Thanksgiving was the first time I really realized how deeply I don't have control over my treat addiction. I was surrounded by baked goods. I'd eat a small one. Feel sick. Then a couple hours do it again. Over the 2 days of celebration I made myself feel sick about 5 times. The nausea is miserable. Sweats, light headed, toe-curling nausea. Then it passes. And I'm fine. And like a drug addict I indulge again. It's shocking. It's like I'm binging. Except I never throw up and it's only one treat at a time.
I guess my point is... bypass didn't cure me. I do feel sick when I eat too much sugar. But it doesn't stop me from doing it. From constantly seeing how much I can have before I feel sick. I have a lot of work to do before I am no longer "unhealthy" regardless of my weight. Wanted to share in case others are sweet addicts and wondering how the surgery will affect that.

ReeTee reacted to Coexister in Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?I had revision surgery October 7th and it took awhile before my hunger went away. I am now on soft foods and definitely do not feel the restrictions I did when I had the sleeve but I have also not eaten anywhere close to the amount I was eating pre-surgery. I am being cautious in my intake. Normally with sleeve I would feel some resistance with liquids but now they go down easier than ever which worries me. So I pray with regular food I will some kind of restrictions ? -
ReeTee reacted to Christina760 in Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?Ah okay yes my hunger is starting to go away now. So odd but my surgeon said I will lose weight bcuz it’s the bypass. My sleeve was a little stretched which he said happens w all sleeves over time. I’ve lost 7 pounds since surgery on liquids. I start my soft foods this Thursday or next Tuesday not sure what way I want to try it yet but I can do between those dates.

ReeTee reacted to mae7365 in Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?I had a bypass on October 29, 2020. I had the sleeve in November 2014 and definitely felt restriction AND loss of hunger. Since my bypass surgery, I'm hungry. Still in the Stage 2 liquid phase, but I'm anxiously waiting for week 3 - soft food!
I didn't have the bypass for weight loss (although I'm hoping weight loss is a side effect). My surgeon told me that I may not see the severe weight drop like I did after the sleeve. I'm just hoping that I will notice the restriction once I start on real food 11/13/20. Until then.........I'm hungry!!!!!

ReeTee reacted to Christina760 in Sleeve to Bypass & hungry?Hi all! I went from sleeve to bypass. Didn’t have hunger with the sleeve. Had bypass on 11/2 and I’m starving. Anyone experience this? Is it just because it hard to get enough protein or will I feel this hungry once I’m on soft foods on the 16th?

ReeTee reacted to Zino in Red Bull No Carb No Sugar AlmostI would suggest that you let the surgery do its work and fight through your body being tired. Your body is adjusting to lower calorie intake, it took a long time for your body to get to that point so give it a little time to adjust to your new weight and calorie intake. I am at 4 months now and starting to get more energy naturally.

ReeTee reacted to SleeveNoob in Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After SurgeryNo need to make someone who struggles feel even more ashamed than they already are. Its one think to give advice and another to judge. just because it was so easy for you to follow doesn't mean it is for everyone else. I was eating things I shouldn't on my liquid diet and I don't feel guilty. Your body will tell you what you need to know when you eat something you're not suppose to and you will go through the discomforts and learn what you can and cannot eat. I recommend staying with your diet and not cheat but I bet we are not the only ones who have cheated. Not many people will admit when they have cheated. But reading some of theses responses tick me off cuz it always turns in to omg I can't believe you would risk your life or omg you need counseling. Just cuz you had the sleeve does not make you an expert! Just sayin!

I need to add to this one!! When sitting at my desk and a paperclip drops into my lap and I quickly close my legs to catch it and hear the paperclip hit the floor because it passed thru the space between my thinner thighs!! LOLS!!
-
i'll add: Having to use the regular blood pressure cuff at the doctor's office rather than the supersized one

Since you've had your surgery...do you ever notice how MUCH all of those other people are eating!! I am keenly aware of this and think WOW did I use to way that much!!!
I can say that all I thought about for 2 weeks post op was eating again but you will be surprised once they give you the go ahead it won't be such a present thought (%#@$ head hunger).
I wish you luck but know you are strong and madge it through any temptations. I promise you as each situation presents itself you will feel more inner confidence about making this life change.
Wishing you a continued speedy recovery.
