  1. It does get better. After a month or so, you should be great. The port sight took the longest to heal for me. I guess the pain is stronger there because is the result of something being attached. The gas can be helped wit GasX. I kept it with me at all times after my surgery. Good luck and know that it is worth the pain.
  2. Surgery is not for everyone. Gastric bypass requires tremendous life changes. Lapband not as much. But surgery of any kind will not help a food addict who is not ready to deal with their addiction. When I researched bariatric surgery I learned that many just trade one addiction for another. I was also surprised to learn about how many regain their weight because they thought surgery was a solution rather than a tool. I used to look at overweight people with some disgust and realized that it was self hate. I am thankful that I have had my surgery and it has helped me on my weight loss journey. But it took me years to get to the point where I was ready for the surgery. Now when I see morbidly obese people, I try to have some compassion. I know how difficult their life can be.
  3. Congratulations on the 70 pound loss! Keep up the great work!
  4. I have had my lapband for almost three years and still get adjustments. As you lose weight the band may get looser. I have lost 85 pounds. I have a 10cc band but could not tell you how much fill at this time. Everyone who tells you not to compare yourself to others is correct. You also need to remember that the band is just a tool. If you eat the wrong things, the band can't help. In fact, I once had my band too tight and had terrible reflux. So I ate ice cream to cool down the burning. It worked but did nothing for my weight loss. So tight is not always right!
