NSAIDs does anyone take any?
I am post op month 10 and started taking NSAIDs at month 6. Take everything from ibuprofen to proxen to fletcher patch to etofenac. No issues yet. Surgeon gave me blessing after month 6. They really help with back inflammation issues. I do not take them so much anymore because high dose fish oil (3-6 g a day) has really been helping...ALOT. And I make it a point to hold good posture when sitting, standing, running and working out. This does a lot for me in terms of back discomfort.

Back pain after surgery!
It sounds like you are having a rough time. Not good! Hope you feel better soon. In the meanwhile, you can get a PPI prescribed by your doctor (surgeon or PCP) to take care of the acid. You can also buy some PPI like Prilosec OTC in a store that sells pharmaceutical stuff. Not sure where you would find one in TJ though. Since you are newly sleeved, it sounds like your back pain may be gas pain or it could be something more urgent. Definitely keep an eye on it. If you suspect it is not gas pain, it would be wise to place a call to your surgeon. I remember all the aches and pains from week 1 recovery. The good news is that every day will feel a little better. Give yourself the time to rest and recover. Have your minions (e.g. Family) do things for you u til you have your energy and strength back when you get home. Good luck!

Slightly controversial drink (wine, spirit, beer) poll
Maybe it is a self defense mechanism! The more we openly talk about food, the more objective we can be about it and the less it effects us individually. Complicated Freudian analysis, huh? Lol

Slightly controversial drink (wine, spirit, beer) poll
I better start a restaurant thread now that we are talking about Thai. Indian buffets work this way for me too. The owner of a very nice Indian restaraunt in Mill Creek (named the Clay Pit or something like that) lets me eat off my wife's buffet plate. Love going there because the owners are really nice and the food is top notch (wins best in western WA award every year). I told them about my surgery and they said no problem, free of charge. It may also be because we have been eating there fora long long time before surgery.

Yup, frost is the home of the weird and experimental donuts. So strange people cannot help but buy and eat them. If you want something a little less weird, you walk across the parking lot to top pot donuts (apple fritters are even better in my opinion). If you want something cold and sweet, you walk to the other side of the parking lot and buy a gotta have it cold stone ice cream. Whatever you do, don't get trapped in the Bermuda Triangle of Sweetness. People have been known to get sucked in and never leave. Don't say I didn't warn you!!! Enter at your own risk!- Desert nostalgia

love the SB skinny peppermint mocha also! Too bad SB only carries the SF peppermint at Christmas time. I tried to order this drink in February and was denied. I had to improvise to something similar. SB does not even carry SF raspberry so I end up buying my SF mocha with raspberry from a local barista stand.- hot weather running

Now I thought everyone in the Seattle area like their latte this and their mocha that given the infusion of Starbucks stores and local baristas. Lol. Maybe that is more true of my generation (i am 36) and younger. Now I know better.- Best coffee drink poll
My yummy iced coffee of the day. 1.5 tbsp coconut creamer, 4 tsp Splenda and coffee. My wife's coffee of the day. Cappuccino with 4 tsp Splenda and 8 oz frothed milk: I like to have these also during the week.- Best coffee drink poll
Good for you to drink coffee without any creamer. I could never do that. the taste is just not right for me. I think Laura said she likes her coffee black also.- My morning vitamin routine

Drink Protein Drink These steps usually take about 30 minutes.- Feeling the woosh
Don't you love waking up in the morning and feeling the skin tightened overnight with inches gone from the sides? You know that feeling, don't you! Even before getting up out of bed you know, you just know and can feel it in your bones, that the scales is going to show something good, that the mirror is going to reflect something good, that the clothes are going to fit just a little better. It happened to me this morning. I got on the scale and was down 5 lb overnight. I could just feel it in my body when I first woke up. Felt great!!!- Desert nostalgia
I had my casein chocolate protein shake a few minutes ago and feeling better. mmm, chocolate. Just as an fyi- the casein protein is definitely more satisfying then whey protein when you need something in the evening. Again, it is weird. This is the first time I had had these dessert battles. Literally only tonight. Now good riddance to them!!- Desert nostalgia
I really do miss those yummy apple fritters. Sniff. Sniff.- Desert nostalgia
I don't what it is and am having trouble putting my finger on it. Maybe I have buried some of these food issues when I decided to live a healthy lifestyle. They are rising from my cemetery of bones. - Best coffee drink poll
