  1. Hi Smoggy, keep drinking and eating your protein, one day at a time, don't push it. Your cat is in Good hands. Take care of you so that you can help me get through this next week.
  2. OK,OK,OK,OK...........I'm day 8 of my preop diet, only liquids are allowed from now until surgery on 7/16. I have sort of steered away from broths during this process because when opened they stink and earlier in the week the beef broth was disgusting. SOOO, today I got back up on my horse and opened a can of chicken broth, I added a little sea salt, poultry seasoning, garlic powder and pepper. Got my kitchen smelling like chicken and dressing. It is so good, that I ask my husband to taste it and he wanted to keep my mug. No he is maad because there is no chicken and dressing for Sunday dinner. Also MADE my first protein shake today and smells GOOD, added some sf carmal flavoring. I can't wait to tell you what it tast like!
  3. Thanks for this topic, I am saving for a juicer and plan on using it to get in my vegetables as part of my liquids after surgery. I went out yesterday and passed up the magic bullet for a hand blender so that I can get my juicer in a couple of weeks.
  4. I purchased the powder tube yesterday oh and there is another one called Oh Yeah, it has 32 grams of Protein in it,it taste really good also.
  5. Sorry to hear about your surgery and your Husband, hang in there you will make it over this hurdle and on to your dreams. Praying for peace and patience. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST
  6. My surgery is July 16th and my Pcp is still against it, she things that weight watchers is the key. I have 3 different heart doctors, my Htn specialist did my paperwork with no problems he is all for it. My cardiologist was like I don't think so at first but after this last scare with my Heart rate in the 170's he was like sure! I haven't told my Pcp the news she will have to wait until post open and I am NOT ashamed because I'm trying move forward.
  7. I'm starting day 7 today of pre op diet. I don't think that I have cheated and I say this because 3 of those days I would eat a small piece of baked chicken with my meal. The instructions stated 4 shakes and a lean cuisine meal less than 350 Cal. My meals only go to 270. I feel satisfied with what I have done so far and today is shopping day for more shakes. Today is last day before I go to all liquids.
  8. So far so good, today will start day 7 of 12. Have not cheated but want some soup bad. Oh dang, I forgot to eat my lean cusine yesterday.
  9. I would say yes because it would be considered part of a full liquid diet, as long as you strain the potatoes. That is exactly what I plan to do is make my own soups and strain them when I get to that stage.
  10. I am not sure about this one because I was told to stay away from the Smoothy King. What I will say is that the Lean Body was recommended to me by my Nut actually everyone I hsave tried so far was on my can have list so. Good luck in your search for what is right for YOU!
  11. Yes 3.49 and they are also sold by the case, they are premade.
  12. I have thought about the calories and after surgery getting one in a day should not be bad, it will be over half my Protein needed in a days time so I'm good with that. I just hope I lkie is after surgery as much as I like it know.
  13. Today is my 6th day on my preop diet and I have been trying all of these different shakes. Well I think I found the one for me. It's called Lean Body, its 260 cal, 9 fat, 9 carb, 5 fiber, 0 sugars and 40 PROTEIN! all in one serving! Woohoo! It was so good, I loved it. It was 3.49 at the Vitamin Shoppe. So !!!!!!!
  14. Hi, I am not a vet, but I am in my 2 week pre op stage, 3 shakes and a lean cusine meal. I have to admit that for 2 days since startin on Sunday, I had some chicken that I roasted, I chalked it up to, I just eating my protein. The chicken is gone now, so I have been walking and keeping busy when the family is eating. I know its hard, for me next week will be all liquids. Just take one day at a time and come up with something that you can do when others are eating. Hang in there! What other things do you love to do?
  15. I'm July sleeves, the 16th. I'm on day 5 of my prep diet, I happy that I found this site because last week I thought I was going to go crazy!
  16. Wow 12, I cant get past the sip and smell from the mango flavor. Straight vodka, rum, and beer always ends up on someone else so I stopped trying, lol. I guess one sip at a time will have to do it for the Protein, unless I find something else. quickly!
  17. Hi, I started my liquid diet Sunday, today was ok, but missed the BBQ ribs, lol. The think that I have noticed is that my husband is eating things that he normally does not eat, that started day 1 and the tv commericals for food are HORRIBLE! I did not realize there where so many. When is your surgery date, mine is the 16th!
  18. My date is July 16th and I have the same emotions, I joined this site today for support and so far its great.
