  1. cmk90, It's going well. I went to the lecture and learned alot more. Now all I have to do is collect from my vendors so I can schedule the consult and surgery. I want to pay on my own without taking out a loan. So, how is it going for you?!?!? I see you had your surgery yesterday!
  2. Thanks for responding. That answers a specific question I had and is very helpful. Good luck to you!!!
  3. Thanks, Devans. I'm glad to hear about your positive experience. Makes me feel better
  4. Yep, self pay. I had owned a boutique, but thanks to heavy shoplifting I decided to close down. I'm selling off the remianing inventory and using the profits for lap band surgery. I figure I'm turning my business failure into a lifetime of good health this way, lol.
  5. Yay! I'm feeling more comfortable with my decision already just by reading this forum. My family isn't very supportive so being able to get so much info and talk freely without judgement has been a big relief. I'm looking forward to hearing more about eveyone's journey and sharing mine with all of you.
  6. I think I will give them a call. Thanks!
  7. Thanks. I live almost 3 hrs away, but I really want to meet people in person so I'm making the trek all the way down. Did the slides answer all your questions and make you feel more comfortable with the surgery?
  8. Hi! I am new to the forum and trying to learn as much as possible about the Lap Band. I'm scheduled to attend a pre-surgery seminar with Dr. Curry in Cincinnati on July 25th. I'll be doing self pay so I'm a little nervous about how much pressure will be put on me to schedule too soon. Also, worried it might go the other way and I won't be as desirable a patient as someone with insurance. My goal is too lose 100 lbs. Hope to meet a lot of new people on the forum and learn as much as possible.
  9. I am going to a a seminar with Dr. Curry on July 25th. Can anyone tell me what goes on at the seminar and how agressive they are to sign you up for surgery that night. I will be self paying. Any other info about Dr. Curry, staff and experience with this location would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm new here. First post! Nice to meet everyone.
