geterdone reacted to cmw10000 in Success Is GoldenI had surgery on Feb. 27, 2012 I have now lost 65 lbs.I am now in onderland!! It's been a roller coaster ride a lot of the time but I am so glad that I took this journey. I feel so much better about myself, my self esteem is higher and I can look in the mirror without feeling discussed. I am really hoping that my daughter can see my success and do this for herself.
I know that there are skeptics out there that think this is not a good thing to but they have not lived in my shoes to see the looks on peoples faces, to hear the silent remarks, to sit in a chair gentlely and hope it holds you. I knew that it was time for me to take control of my destiny......And I did, now I can look in a mirror, sit in any chair, and I feel great. There are no more stares and I feel like I am normal. My husband has been so supportive and he is my soul mate for life. I am so excited about my new look and my new life. I can't remember the last time that I felt this way. My daughter is 25 and my son is 24 and I don't think they even remember me being this size ever in their life. I wish I could have done this 20 years ago.
So good Luck to everyone and remember on this forum we have your back!!!!!

geterdone reacted to karenb4729 in Puréed MeatI have 6 weeks of pureed. Tonight for dinner we went to Indian food and I had Paneer Tikka masala. I do a lot of cheese on the pureed - cheese sticks and the baby bel cheese as they pack a lot of protein punch. For meat - I make a tuna salad with tuna fish, light mayo, lemon juice and curry powder. I also do something similar with chicken. I toss all the ingredients into my food processor. The best food though during the pureed stage has been refried beans. Add some salsa, shredded cheese and sour cream on top and its a great meal... all 2 to 4 tablespoons.

It does take some adjusting.... ok a lot of adjusting. I am one who always drank a lot with my meals but I also ate a lot more at one time. I have forgotten and reached for my glass and taken a drink and it is not a pleasant experience. You will not want to do it after once or twice messing up. You are eating so little in one meal that you will not need to wash your food down. It just takes some practice and the best thing to do is not even have a drink near you while your eating. You will get used to it and now I stop drinking when I get hungry and wait for about 30-45 minutes then eat. After you eat you feel full so you know you cannot fit anything else in. At first it seemed like an eternity before I could drink but now its second nature. The whole thing is a process and a learning experience.
