  1. I went to a couple of seminars. One from a Center for Excellence and one that wasn't. Plus the sister hospital that I work for offers RNY. I chose the place that was the Center of Excellence. My PCP is very supportive. Maybe you should find another PCP. I just got my approval letter on Saturday, so I should be hearing from my surgeon this week for pre surgery teaching and setting a surgery date. I've already been through all of the pre op stuff and paid my non-refundable fee of $300. Since I went to the seminar first I just had to make an appt with the doc for a consult. They then told me what I had to do for my insurance needs and I went from there. I don't think you can even get in to see some surgeons without going to the seminar first.
  2. I am new to this forum and hope I can find ome of the support that I can't seem to find in my friends at work. I haven't told them I'm even going to have the surgery because we work in health care and I know how they all feel about WLS. I just finally got my approval letter on Saturday. I had been so down in the dumps waiting on the final approval that I have gotten way off track on what weight I had lost in my 6 months of monthly doctor visits. I had lost 33 lbs during that 6 mths. I've been very depressed while waiting (plus crappy cold weather didn't help) that I have gained 16 lbs in about 7 weeks. :pout: This of course, is giving me doubts about the surgery! On a good note though I have joined the health club in our area and started there with my husband. We've had a really good time. Even took 2 hours of aquatic exercise classes today.
