  1. You're right , I will request to have tests done to find out about the status of my band. If there's any problem at all, I'm sure this Dr. will want the band taken out and so would I. as a matter of fact, one Dr. has already mentioned that he could remove it and I could go with the sleeve or bypass. and thats by going on my complaints. Thnx for your input.
  2. No don't. He left his practice and a new Dr. is taking over. I'm really co fused.
  3. I am so glad you mentioned a second bulging stomach. I am looking toward to the revision also. But I asked my Dr. why was my upper stomach so huge? He turned, looked at me, and said "I DON'T KNOW" and then turned and walked out the door. I look a good 7 months pregnant. Deep down inside I sort of felt that maybe I had made a second upper belly due to the band always being too tight. Nevertheless; My Dr. never requested any tests to be done no matter how much I complained about stomach issues, port issues or throat issues. I blame myself for not completely following the rules but the wrong foods were easier to swallow. You were 16 and I was 55. No matter how young or old, We both made the wrong choice. I will be seeing another Dr. soon, the appointment has been set.
  4. I'm a slow loser. type 2 diabetes. Was banded in 09 and have only lost around 49-50 lbs. I am now debating to go with sleeve or gastric bypass. I thought I would lose too much with gasstric but if the sleeve is slow, I may be ok with having gastric bypass. One thing I have learned here and that is that everyone's metabolism is different.
  5. Thnx, I heaard that I may not lose too much because my metabolism has already changed since being banded.
  6. Thats wonderful, Keep up the good work. It's these inspirations that makes me wish I had done RNY to start with. but I feel its too late now that I am at 204-5. where R U located? I'm in SC
  7. same with me. but not since I had a 5cc unfill. so far so good. have you lost anything since RNY?. So far, is it better than the band you think? hopefully this will work out better for you.
  8. I had mine a little over 2 yrs as well and never felt full. I wonder if it was the way it was placed
  9. hope everything works out for you both.
  10. Give it time, It will. Let me know more about your revision
  11. OH OK, best of luck to you. Keep me informed and I will you!
  12. does either of you still have medical issues e.g. H/BP or diabetes?
  13. @eglean2, I was too scared too. So have you had a consult already? I have one wih another Dr. since my last Dr. filled me tighter and tighter and then left his practice to relocate elsewhere. I heard that his replacement Dr. does not potentially deal a lot with lap banders
  14. I have the band right now and have been banded 3 yrs come august. I'm looking to convert to either bypass or sleeve due to the band no longer working well for me. You've lost more than I have in nearly 3 yrs..LOL. I may would have lost a little more had I been more compliant with exercise
  15. Hello! I was just recently unfilled but totally. I am in a position to either continue to try to work with the band(that is no longer working for me) or choose RNY or Sleeve. I started with a weight of 250lbs. Since banding I have lost 45lbs and still need to do more to no longer be diabetic. I'm thinking bypass but my weight is now 205. I'm afraid of losing too much. I wish I had done bypass in the beginning, but thought that the band would do the trick. Please give me some feedback. Good or bad..Thx
