    6 Months Diet

I believe that it depends on your insurance. My insurance had me do a 3 month diet, but like the others said its all up to your insurance.

    Reassurance

Its awesome that you are getting this done at 19. I tried to have it done at that age and I was around 400lbs at the time but my insurance wouldn't do it. I am now 24 and just got banded 6 days ago and I am super excited for what I will be able to do in the future things like you want to do such as ride a roller coaster without worrying. And I am also going through this process with my mom, she will be banded next month. Good luck to you!
  3. Wow, Its interesting that diff doctors have diff diets. I just had my surgery 6 days ago and my diet goes like this day 1-3 - clear liquids only day 4-14- full liquids + protein shakes day 15-27- soft foods + protein shakes day 28-35- regular food trial they told me that it takes 6 weeks for the body to heal from surgery so i need to be really strict and stay on my diet. So far I have been doing it and it hasn't been that hard. Just keep at it and it will pay off in the end.

    Lapband Vs. Sleeve?

I just had the lap band surgery last week and like you I had questions about having babies in the future. What my surgeon told me was when I do become pregnant to come in and have the band unfilled during the pregnancy and then when I deliver to come back in and have the band refilled which would help me to continue losing weight and help to lost the baby weight as well. This sounded like the best option for me, but in the end like everyone else is saying it is up to you which surgery you have and research can be a great thing.
  5. My doctor wanted me walking on the treadmill the next day for at least 30 minutes, they even had me walking that day after the surgery
  6. I had this pain too, it was hard to breath and when I stood up it took me a while to start walking because it hurt also it was hard to lay down and sleep I found myself sleeping in a chair because that was the most comfortable spot for me. I did feel like it was gas but the only way I have been able to describe it is as incredible heartburn. I chewed a couple of tums and that helped me alot.

    Carbonated Drinks

I was told by my surgeon that I can never drink soda or anything carbonated again after the surgery. He did however tell me that some patients had such a hard time giving up soda that they would open it and let it sit on the counter to let it go flat before drinking it.
  8. I was just banded two days ago and I am 24
