  1. Yay...the 20th! I just did my monthly calendar and realized I have parent teacher conference for both boys the 15th. I really hope I can make it. I need to make sure Denise gets her clothes back....most of it is not my style.:smile2: (still kinda like the fat lady clothes! hahahaaha!)
  2. Thanks, Dee! Is the 15th Wed? Am I still welcome to RR? And no, I can't believe that its almost winter again. Yuck. But in another way, kinda glad to see this one go. I noticed your ticker...My goodness your doing well. I could bust with excitement for you! Give yourself a pat! And Mal's picture from the race is really showing her change too! There is about 200 pages of stuff I haven't caught up on...wow. Probably will never have the time!
  3. Hey, Girls! Hi Dee and Mal! Long, long, long time~ no post! Well, after a very pissy, feeling awful summer, I have good news! I have delivered a very rotten, 3 and a half month pregnant with triplets sized uterus! Yay! Its gone! After Doc finally stopped doing different things to "regulate my hormones" and actually did an ultrasound to see the silly thing...he found it to be exceptionally rotten and huge and immediately scheduled the surgery. So, with almost no notice to work or anyone, I had it done. And! Wait! That's not all (if you order now...)! While they were in there, they found a rather large hernia! So for the two for one price, he repaired that too. EEEEK! I had it done two weeks ago and to be honest, I'm still sore. I expected to recover like I did with the Band, and I was soooo wrong. But I feel better, almost every day and the good news is, is none of it was cancerous. I thank God daily and hopefully can get back to my ole self and feel like being social again. I've missed you all lots and frequently read, just never post. My weight loss has been a little slow, but I'm okay with it. I haven't gained at all...so its good. Mal and Dee...congrats on the race! I'm so proud, I cried for you! Also congrats to all these new people that I don't know real well yet. You all seem like super people. Have a great night!
  4. Hey, Gals! I have tried a thousand ways from Sunday to get pictures posted....yay for Purple Lady...thanks for putting the video up! It's not that I don't know how to post pics...I can't figure out how to shrink my pictures down to less than 1MB. The program I used to use for that is no longer available. RATS! Lifesaver and Bahotmama~thanks for the clothes! I have to admit, I haven't tried any on yet, kinda scared. Silly huh? Afraid I'll be disappointed in what I see I guess. I turned into such a tshirt and jeans person, what if pretty clothes still look so icky on me? I'll be trying them on soon though. Thanks again! Mal~Miss you and praying for your family. {{{{{hugs!}}}}} Dee~ I missed you at the BBQ! We had to leave by 1:30 cuz my hubby had to be at work by 3. Waaah! I think I saw you driving in as we were driving out. Rats-a-roony! And I must say...wow are you looking different! Tell me, are you feeling as great as your looking?! Adork~Sorry about the Gallbladder! Hope you get relief soon! And thanks for running the tally for us. Greenchrysalis~Thanks! I hadn't thought about it, but someone mentioned...28s to 14s...thats half of me! This is my catch-up post too! Welcome Adoptionislove1! I don't regret a thing. I feel very fortunate to have received my band from Dr. K. I love my band and should anything ever happen to it...I'd wait long enough for my guts to heal and I'd stick another one right back in there! Well, I'm back to work on Monday. The summer is gone. We have our back to work meeting monday, open and clean the kitchen tuesday, prep and pull foods on wed...feed the freshman on thursday and the whole school on friday... Ya, I said freshman...I changed schools this year! I'll be over at Liberty High which is less then a mile from my house. Yay me! (especially with gas prices) I also don't have to head so far north when the weather is bad. I was just south/east of Monument before...seriously crappy drive in the ice and snow. Well...this post has rambled on long enough! Have a great day! :biggrin2:
  5. Mare! Good to hear from you. Glad you'll be there today. Heard its going to be a warm one today. (can't say hot, I'm from Phx!) Is anyone trying to find some before pics? I used to have a small pile set aside and now I can't find them...:wink2: I'll have to keep looking. You guys are taking before pics, right?:cool2: Oh, and for the challenge....sheez! I wonder if I should even participate? The Pill hasn't worked thus far on my hormone issues...so I'm taking them another month. They sure mess with me and my weight.:tt2: I managed to be minus one whole pound for this BBQ challenge....Well, what the heck. I think I'll have one more fill before school gets going too. LA~put me down for 5 pounds. Have a great day, All...hope to see lots of you at the BBQ, and as always~~~I'll take pics!
  6. Thanks, Dee! I will give you a jingle if I get lost! I'll prolly make it. I know Denver better than I ever knew Phoenix, even after 35 years. Can't wait to see you all! :biggrin2:
  7. okay...I will. Sorry about being paranoid about being lost! heeheheehee!:biggrin2:
  8. Hi, Dee!!!! Your map is too close up for me...hopefully thats where it is?
  9. So....is that off Colfax and Lincoln like my map quest said??? :cursing:
  10. Hey, Brandy! Thanks...it was soo weird shopping on "that" side (not all of it I like!) So you don't know where it is either? I just heard from my Dee...so maybe she can enlighten both of us. Silly that I would wait until the night before to find out. (Procrastinators of the world..Unite! sooner or later. heehee)
  11. Hi, All! Don't beat me up...it must be 3 weeks since I've posted. I've tried to at least read and keep up, but I have to admit...its been about a week since I've even been able to read. :scared2: Sorry! I tried to PM Dee...but I haven't heard back. I need to know something about tomorrow's BBQ, since I'm not from the Denver area. Is Chatfield Reservoir off of Colfax and Lincoln up there? I map quested it and that is what came up. Just hoping its right. Let me know, guys, k? Am I going to be able to meet any of you tomorrow? Still not sure if my Hubby can come...silly work of his. My boys will be with me though. I bought new jeans for tomorrow..heehee! Am I silly or what? Mine were so big...I went down two sizes more...now I'm in a 14. Not small by any means....but wholly crap! (I started this journey in a 28!) It's not in the plus size section and I was soooo lost! I don't know how to shop on that side of the store. Have a great night all....see some of you tomorow?:cursing::biggrin2:
  12. Hi, All! Okay, this is worse than a drive-by post. (I haven't had a chance to catch up on the past posts!) Dee and others~ I can't make it tonight. :frown: My company is still here. I thought they were leaving Tues., which would have made tonight fine. But they are leaving tomorrow. So! I sure will miss you all...but! I'll be at the BBQ. I hope you have a great time, and don't forget to post the pics!!!!:biggrin2:
  13. Sidann~ forgive me, but I can't remember how long ago your surgery was...:scared2: I suck at remembering some things. I had a lump at my portsite for about 6 months. (then I had to have my port replace in Sept and had another lump for a couple of more months) Some people naturally make more scar tissue than others. And I believe it also has to do with your muscle mass on your abs...(I have none!) If your surgery was in the last couple of months, you may have a bit of fluid around it too. And depending on your body shape and what you wear, ya you can see it. Some fill docs have you lift your head while you lie down for your fill cuz your muscles will actually make it "pop" up more so they can see it better. Also, the more weight you lose, the more you can see it depending on body shape. Hey, here's a question...does it hurt? Is it red or warm? And part of this has to do with how long ago your were banded too....or how long ago your last fill was. Anyways...I hope this helps.
  14. Lotza~I just read your post this morning...my heart broke for you. The first 4 or 5 days of that low carb stuff makes you feel so bad and tired....and you'll pee every hour or so. But you are depriving yourself way too much. You could have had a grilled chicken salad with full fat dressing, cheese, bacon, mushrooms...the whole salad, just minus the croutons...thats all you would need to leave off. And depending on where you go out to eat...you can get Half a bbq chicken, with creamed cauliflower (some places will let you sub in cottage cheese for the mashed or baked potato) and green beans with the salad bar...don't go hungry! And although Dr. K. is pretty much against diet or regular soda...right now you can still have diet coke.(or diet pepsi) Another good satisfying food is Tuna Salad (if you like tuna). there is nothing in tuna salad..mayo,onion, celery, pickle..however you make it...its all 0kay. Throw some of that on some greens with tomato and salad dressing...mmmmm! LOTZA~You can do this! Change is hard and it truly sucks, but its easier with the Band and we are all doing it together.:biggrin2: I just wish I had gotten my band earlier. Hang in there girly!!!!
  15. Dee!!!! I lost a pound today! OMG! Its been a while! Hope I can hold on to that pound for the weigh-in saturday. I hope this fill is what I needed to jump start the loss again. Shelbi~Don't freak out...all is not doomed! You'll do okay until you can get your fill. Don't worry. You can do it! :wink2:
  16. Widow~ I had a really hard time with the "no starch on my plate" thing too. What I started subing in was cottage cheese. Its white (I love it) and it really was what I needed on the plate. Some people like creamed cauliflower. I like it some, but not as well as I wished I did. (its so lo-cal) For breakfast, you're kinda SOL if you don't like eggs. You can have pretty much any kind of omlette you want. *Sausage has no carbs *cheese has no carbs *sour cream has no carbs *salad dressings that are NOT low fat are lower in carbs *Bacon has no carbs *bologna has very little carbs *ham has no carbs *Butter has no carbs *hot dogs have no carbs *salsa is very low in carbs *cottage cheese is very low in carbs *cream cheese has no carbs Some of these foods are higher in fat than others but...when you start the low carb thing...do something to help you not go nuts. (fat=flavor=higher level of satisfaction) And you can get the Atkin's diet if you want, but...he has some things that he does not consider okay because his diet is a little more "pure" than just low carb. He also wanted pure form foods...so to him hot dogs and lunch meat are No No's. The purpose of this low carb phase before surgery is not to go into Keytosis as Atkins is...this is just to flush the fatty parts out of your liver and shrink it to make surgery easier. (it also jump starts weight loss, and that is fun!) :wink2: Good luck with it! It gets easier after about day 4 or 5 or it. And, if you've ever had the chance to go through the thread here, I FREAKED out so bad before my surgery! Have a great night!
  17. Brandy & Mal~ Hi! My summer has been nuts! We have had so many immunizations...including me! I had my first chicken pox vaccine! Eeeek! And my lil Dilly has had a ton too, getting him ready for kindergarten. He has more on the 29th and the rest of us get our second chicken pox on the 26th of August. Plus my gyno stuff going on... and trying to get them into the dentist with our insurance change and then I freaken turned 40, had a fill in Denver, Wes has baseball 2 times a week, my hubby once a week....OMG! Then I'm sorta redoing part of the house and redoing the kids rooms and visiting goodwill every chance I get to unload some of this stuff...My inlaws were here for 3 weeks and my sister inlaw will be here on the 10th......:eek::cool2::tt1::tt2: Wow...how many weeks in a summer? I have my first back-to-work meeting Aug. 11....its going way too fast and way too busy! But...its has been great! And thanks for asking. I can't wait to go back to work so I can have a break!:tt1: Anyone else feel like this???? :confused2: Can't wait to touch base with you all at RR and the BBQ....:biggrin2:
  18. Mal! I'm so laughing at the weight comparisons! I have lost the world's largest ball of tape! On my way to a new born calf! :cool2::biggrin2:
  19. Shesha!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!! Sooo congrats! I have thought of you every time I log on to this thread! I'm sooo glad you had a wonderful lil baby boy...and he was big! Proof that babies can be had after the band! And big too! Pleeeez send us some pics when you get a chance! And you did absolutely wonderfully in regards to weight gain during it. You are my hero! And, I missed you! Welcome back...and again... CONGRATS!!!!!! Yay babies! :biggrin2:
  20. AdorKable~ {{{{{{hugs!}}}}}} You seemed like you needed one . Don't get too bumed about your activity in the summer. I lived in Phx my first 37 years of life...and no, you cannot go out and jog in the summer. (You can die from that.) So between your pain, meds for pain, the very suppressive depressing heat~~~no wonder you need cheering up! I hope your new band buddy does the trick for you. And you know, your weight loss is awesome...just awesome! And another thing, pain meds can effect weight and cause depression, so don't beat yourself up over it. You'll get to the reason for your pain and get it fixed. Until then...we are thinking of you! Hang in there!
  21. Curse the Ranch dressing! (OMG I could put it on everything!) The ranch I buy has 150 kcal per 2 tablespoons...EEEEK! The Balsalmic Vinegerette I just bought has 50 kcal per 2 tablespoons...Oh my! Hope it helps. Oh ya, I'm a bit of a mayo freak too. (mmmmmm fat!) I'm cutting that way back, almost out. Wow, Dee~ you sure must have been swollen! Poor thing! Mini~ your belly will be swollen for a while too. Thats all fluid in there! Hope you're feeling better by the minute. Bookholder! I'm hoping over here that it is all okay! With my leak it was a very slow losing of restriction. Not all at once. But if it is the issue...its not too bad of a procedure. Recovery is really quick and truly not that painful. My nerves were far more frazzled than anything else. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.:biggrin2:
  22. Funny how those rules make it work so well, and yet our nature is to migrate away from them. I think you can do it, Dee! I'm pulling for ya! Dr. K. really let me know how important exercise is. He said he has recently gone to a couple of semenars that have really emphasized that. Man I wish I liked doing it. I have my Wii Fit though and I'm gonna get with it! It is kinda fun for exercise. Gonna run for now...its hotter than blazes out and this house has no AC. I'm running to my mom's to have dinner and cool off! Have a great one!
  23. Yay, Mini! Glad your feeling better! Dee~ do you mind if I ask how much they cost there? I really need to start sipping on them again and getting back into my bandster rules. They have gone up to about $2.85 at my store. Thought about mail order. Its only $5. for shipping through them. I'm so ready to start losing again! Must stick by the rules and lose like I was. I think I just got happy with where I was at. No more knee or foot pain, more active. But I'm ready to lose another 20lb!
