  2. We just returned last night to Canada from Mexico . I am so happy I used dr. Lopez he is amazing! Good luck with whoever you choose, I just know I am Soooo happy with dr. Lopez and the whole a lighter me experience. If you use Ronda as a coordinator it's awesome she teams you up with other patients prior to going we had a ball the whole week! Heck, we are planning our next holiday with some of our sleeveys from this past week. I can't believe that I had a sleeve done Monday and the amount of joy I had all week because of the people I was so blessed to become lifelong friends with. Good luck hon
  3. You will love dr. Lopez!! He is kind, gracious and thorough. We just got home last night from Mexico it was an amazing experience . Ask your coordinator to hook you up. We used Ronda and she freaking rocks!!! Edourdo is a darling omgoodness I am so happy for you!! Good luck and have FUN!!

  6. We all came to this decision either because our bodies were screaming at us, we were done with feeling like melted pudding pops...or we were just plain tired of losing a battle with food. I had that question the other day, and I told the person to flash back the last decade as my friend. Extreme bootcamps, working out like a crazy person, health issues, a few months of depression, not going out and when I did, feeling like a elephant in a room. Then I said, this is a TOOL, it isn't going to magically fix anything. I will still need resolve, this procedure is the least complex of my options. I don't want to die at 43 like my grandmother did of a diabetic coma. I gave it to her from my perspective, not to be mean, but to just say hey, I am an adult, I have thought of both paths 1. the let's waste another two years fighting with the urge to eat and eat irresponsibly (my path behind closed doors thus far) or 2. that will let me be an active grandma, and dance on the beach with my husband, and watch my kids get married. To join the stuff I have been too embarrassed to join. i.e. bellydancing , to join a baseball and soccer team next spring, oooh maybe even rugby. To join ladies night at the golf course and not care what the snotty stepford moms group thinks in our tiny village cause frankly, those women ARE MEAN! lol This is one of the most important commitments you are ever going to make! A commitment to YOURSELF! I have been married for 11 years now, and this is the first thing I have ever really done for myself. It is bat sh@t crazy scary....but hold your head high, there is no shame in reclaiming your independence from food and starting your life the way YOU want! Best of luck! Just keep positive!

A few odds and ends that give ideas, and inspiration when I need it =)
  8. Okay, so here is another question for you all...I have been looking at A Lighter Me, and just generally googling about. They seem to use the same surgeons as Obesity Solutions International....does that seem hinky? Are the two affiliated somehow? Does anyone know if they are what they say they are, with no hidden costs? And the rate of success that they boast? As I will be traveling from Canada to get this done I am thinking Mexico is the best option financially...yikes... I just don't want to go there and be banboozuled. Not to mention I think I am going to go by myself, my hubby wants to go....but.... did you guys take companions?
  9. Wow guys! THANK YOU!! I know that this is the path I want to take. At 32 I shouldn't be concerned about diabetes and heart attacks... I will get in touch with them, as for hand holding when I am hurt I am a bear lol. O.T.R, when did you get your procedure done? Benjammin that is an awesome pic LOL (had to mention that) when was yours? Kemo, thanks for your blogspot link. So, pre and post op, what is the hardest thing to get used to? Did you vomit for two days after your surgery? Do you have enough energy to carry out your day? Sorry, I have a billion questions lol, but I will go easy on you to start.
  10. Hi, I am trying to find a surgeon that is reasonably priced but completely reliable. Feeling overwhelmed! I am also curious if using a booking service, or going directly is the way to go. ANY guidance would be appreciated!
