  1. I have had a problem since I was banded a year ago and only for it to get increasingly worse. My doctor finally had to prescribe a medicine called lactulose because nothing else was working. I also have to take miralax twice daily. I have always had bowel issues but they are much more chronic after having my son and having surgery.
  2. I tried to do sit ups last night and experienced a lot of pain around my port area. Just wondering if anyone else has trouble with doing Sit ups and crunches on the floor. What are some other alternative exercises to work my stomach and core.

  4. I get my first fill today. What will it be like. I am not worried about the needle as I had to give myself Lovenox when I was pregnant. so if I can handle those dreadful things I think I will be fine. Just worried I won't have restriction.
  5. This is very true. I fainted a week after surgery due to dehydration. The first week is rough. I used a heating pad and walked a lot.
  6. Thanks everyone. I will consider everyones tips. I am eating enough protein and drinking plenty of water. I was also told to have a protein after working out which I had not been eating anything after work outs.
  7. I was banded on July 11 and have been doing well until today. I have been hungry way too often. I don't get my first fill until August 9. Any suggestions? Could I possibly get a fill sooner? Is this bandster hell that everyone speaks of? I am really struggling with restriction and losing weight all of a sudden.
  8. My NSV..... Doing a Zumba video without stoping and feeling awesome! I am 2 week post op. I could barely make it to seven minutes of the video a month ago. May not mean much to others but priceless to me.
  9. Set a five minute timer and when it goes off take four to five sips. That works for me.
  10. I asked an it is completely empty. I just don't drink a lot
  11. Thanks honk but I have not had a fill yet. There is absolutely nothing in my band so I eat enough just don't drink enough. I try very hard to eat and drink enough each day but I guess I have been lacking the proper liquid intake. I have always had a propblem with drinking alot of liquids. Iam just nit a bug drinker. This is all new to me as I was just banded last Wednesday. So this is and probably will be a learn experience for me and I would never intentionally miss a meal or stop drinking to just lose weight. I live myself and most importantly my family way to much to do something foolish like that.
  12. Yesterday I pulled up in my driveway, got out and proceeded to get my son out of the car and fainted not once but twice. I never in my life have had that happen to me and thank God my husband found me collapsed in the driveway and rushed me to the hospital. Cause of fainting.......DEHYDRATION!!!! I have had a hard time with liquids and the consumption of. My question is has anyone experienced fainting after lap band surgery. The ER doctor said it had nothing to with my band but my husband feels differently. Because of it I am on a Gatorade liquid diet for the weekend and unable th return to work until I see my surgeon Monday.

  14. I have been tracking my calorie intake and on average I consume 450 to 500 calories a day. I have nothing in my band and have restriction. My question is at 8 days post op about how many calories should I be eating? I eat a lot of protein and was released to mushy foods but I am worries that I am not getting proper nutrients. My doctor told me not to worry but to eat three time a day but I am a little concerned.
  15. Thanks ledavis This is painful. I was fine until I put some folder away at work I did not think they were too heavy but I guess I over did it maybe
