  1. Rdt210 I had a hiatal hernia repair. The heartburn is much better now than before surgery, but only after I got over the rebound effect of the prilosec.
  2. AVOID PRILOSEC IF YOU CAN!!! I had the same problem...stopped taking prilosec, and then had the worst heartburn in my life! Here's what they dont tell you...prilosec, and other proton pump inhibitors like it, cause really bad rebound effect when you stop taking it. The severity differs for everyone. This could take several weeks to go away completely. It took me about 6 weeks of taking 150 mg of zantac twice a day to get past it. Now, I'm down to 75 mg a day, if I need it. Zantac, btw, will not cause rebound, and is milder. Basically, stick to anything that is not considered a PPI, or proton pump inhibitor. Prilosec, will for sure relieve your symptoms, but you'll be taking it for the rest of your life! And don't the drug companies love you for it!
  3. My experience with this, so far, is that the most difficult relationship to fix is the one I had/have with food! This is an extremely important time for you, now. Focus on yourself, and don't let this external relationship distract you from the work you need to do...and, of course, the dude was a PUTZ! You did NOT over-react!!
  4. Tried this a little too early on and it wasn't comfortable enough to be satisfying. I agree with ozeedonkee...all KINDS of other stuff you could do!
  5. This thread just made my happy little sleeved athiest day!! Nice to find some like minded individuals!
  6. Hi SleeveDreamer! No mushies, yet, just liquids until next weekend...can't wait for the soft food phase! I figure I'll just cruise the party with a water bottle with orange crystal lite in it...maybe people will think I spiked it!
  7. So my parents are throwing a 4th of July party (Happy 4th everyone!) and I am expected to go...and I actually want to...except how do you deal with all the nosy questions about "how come you're not eating? why don't you want a glass of wine...you always want a glass a wine?" It'll be hard enough not partaking in these things anyway...so hard not to eat and drink when everyone else is gettin' their part on! Anyone else survived an event like this just after surgery?? I really don't want to blow it!...11 lbs gone, and I'm on a roll!

  9. STOP asking yourself why he left and treated you the way he did, and START asking yourself why you put up with it!
