  2. thanks everyone for the advice!
  3. as anyone had success with broccoli on the soft food stage? also breakfast cereal?
  4. i wish i had the runs. i am a month post op as of this monday and i havent gone to the bathroom in days. then again, i just started the pureed stage and i am not eating any foods.
  5. oh it was just going to be social. i wasn't going to buy a gallon and keep it. i never really bought ice cream and kept it prior to my sleeve but i would get it from time to time. i was just going to get some with a friend and get a very small serving of the sugar free flavor they had. on another note, i cant find sugar free yogurt anywhere where im at.
  6. does anyone know if sugar free ice cream is acceptable in the full liquid stage?
  7. i was sleeved on the 18th of june and have been on a liquid diet since. right now i am on the full liquid diet. i usually do a carnation instant Breakfast in the morning (either sugar free or with sugar), then Water throughout the day. ill have a yogurt or pudding both throughout the day and end my day with an Optifast Soup. i find myself drinking a lot of liquids in one setting sometimes. ill get a full feelong but then a few mins later im hungry or feel empty. anyone else experiencing that?
  8. i didnt have many complications during or after surgery. my only complaint was minor pain around the surgery site. good pain management while in the hospital helped a lot too. another thing that helps is your pre-op preperation. make sure you follow the diet to the T and loose as much weight as you can. everyone is different when it comes to a major surgery like this. a lot of the complications are temporary as your body has gone through a lot of trama and needs to heal. you should be fine a few days after the surgery.
  9. im two weeks post op and lost 23 so far.
  10. i am having the same issue. today i had a couple bites of broccoli cheese soup (just the broth) and iced tea. i was full for a good hour and a half and then hungry again. i thought maybe it was just the stomach digesting very little food quickly and then empty again.
  11. congrats patrick! as they say, lots of walking; lots of sipping!
  12. im 2 weeks post op and a couple of days into the full liquid diet. i crave everything! lol kicker is, ill eat, feel full, and an hour and a half later, im hungry again!! as far as cravings go, once i eat and feel full, the cravings go away.
  13. thats a good thought. thanks!! i just might try the potato soup. it seems as thick as the pudding/yogurt i have to eat.
  14. any soup ideas for full liquid diet? i have a huge taste for applebee's potato soup!
  15. it drains fluids around the stomach. when they took it out, it felt weird but i think the suction was a weird feeling.
  16. i started on my pre-op diet on may 18 and weighed 320. surgery was june 18 and weighed 290. today im 260. i think only a couple of people noticed. no biggie, i know i am progressing and thats all that matters. not that compliments aren't appreciated. :-)
  17. congrats! you look great!
  18. could it be the gas they used during surgery? i know i experienced some pain inside because of it.
  19. i actually went out and bought a RTD muscle milk and drank a few ounces of it. my stomach cramped for a millisecond (like when i drink anyyhing else) and i was fine! hopefully this is a sign that i wont react much to other stuff!
  20. bubbaloo10 i am 2 weeks post op. thaks everyone! i used muscle milk light before and loved it. thought about buying a ready to drink muscle milk and testing it.
  21. start my full liquid diet tomorrow and im looking for stuff to buy. has anyone had mich luck with muscle milk for Protein shakes? i know things should be low sugar or sugar free but a lot of things on the full liquid diet has sugar in it. is the no sugar thing to promote weight loss or is it something medical?
  22. reading this made me think of those infomercials back in the 80s/90s. they had a pill that, if you took it, it would expand in your stomach and make you feel full. well, they took it off the market when people were dying of choking to death because the pill would expand in their throats or just before the stomach.
  23. im on clear liquids until this thursday which would make it 10 or so days. starting thursday i go to the full liquid diet. trust me, i cant wait!!
  24. i still have a couple of optifast shakes and soups left from my pre-op diet. has anyone used them on post-op liquid diets before? is it safe to do?
