  1. 2 more lbs. and I'll lose an Irish setter. Cool.
  2. Sue, I'm in awe of all the weight you've lost. You go girl! I can relate to not having pain in your feet. I can actually wear shoes without inserts now and I realized the other day that I was walking down stairs like a normal person because my knees aren't killing me. What a difference a 68 lbs. weight loss makes.
  3. I love the Nike idea, even if it is a marketing ploy. So here goes - I am making a resolution to exercise 5 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes per day in 2008 or I will give up buying books for six months. This doesn't sound like I'd be giving up much, but I'm a book addict.
  4. It's not realistic for me to commit to over a mile a day (that's over an hour for me), but I will commit to exercising at least 5 days a week. I need to get moving more - treadmill, Gazelle, eliptical, and weights. The real killer for me is that darn eliptical. So how does this work? Report in weekly?
  5. I was banded on July 31st and it's going great. So far I'm down 68 lbs.
  6. I got my band on 7/30 and I've lost 42 lbs. since surgery; 59 since July 1st. I've had two fills, although I don't really feel any restriction. I'm due for a 3rd fill this week. I have found I can't digest certain foods very well. Shrimp is one of them. but if I can lose 10 to 15 lbs. a month, I'll gladly give up the shrimp. I need to improve my water drinking and I've just recently started exercising.
  7. I've been a Catholic my entire life (I'm 56) and while I have heard sermons on our obligation to be active citizens and vote, I have never heard one in which the priest told the people how they should vote. The priests have urged people to pray and read to make informed decisions, but the churches I have belonged to have never said who or what to vote for or against. It may happen in some parishes, but I think it's an error to believe it is widespread.
