It is always good when you find someone with your surgeon. Sometimes you feel all alone. I know that I found a few on a different forum who used my doctor, one on this one and one on gastric sleeve. 2 hours it is VERY EAST of San Diego, maybe you should consider a different CLOSER doctor. Mines is like 10 mins away from the San Diego/Mexico border.

I was wondering if any of you were aware " In fact, African American women's risk factors did not increase until they reached a BMI of 33 or more and a WC of 38 inches or more." I know we always felt that BMI was wrong. So Obese is normally a BMI of 25 but for African-American women it is not until your BMI is 33. It is in large due to the way our body fat is distributed amongst our body. I know we all considered this surgery to get healthy. So for many of us healthy as an African American Women is truly different as it is for other women. If you are using normal BMI standards and not taking into an account that it is like 3 points higher for African American Women you may be setting yourself to be under weight or close to it, when staying within a " Normal weight" = 18.5–24.9 . We should be aiming for African American Women Normal weight = 21.5–27.9 If that makes sense. I know some of use are not shaped like your normal sister but for those who are just something to consider is all. I tried to do financing through alamanz got denied because I started a new job, and now I am on a lay a way plan. You may want to consider that if you don't get financing.
