  1. Oh my gosh I have been in tears today for no reason(well maybe a tiny bit of stress)! I'm only 8 days out but have had a great recovery so far so I don' t know where this is coming from lol. I'm not hungry or craving anything...Weird.
  2. It takes a while to get used to it. Some days I able to use it through the night and some days I only keep it on a few hours.
  3. I had my one week post op and I lost 7 lbs. I've been feeling great but so tired of the liquids! I get to start the pureed stage on Friday. I love the fact that I am not craving foods and I don't really feel like I am missing anything. I'm very happy with my decision to be sleeved!
  4. I found out I had mild sleep apnea during the pre op phase. I had to show that I could use the machine throughout the night before I could get a surgery date. I used it for about a week then had a report printed out that showed I was using it and that was enough.
  5. I wonder if those people have ever had weight problems... I honestly don't know how I would respond to that. Thankfully, I have not (yet) come across that kind of response.
  6. I was told that UHC covers all when you go through a "Center of Excellence" but I wanted to be more local and I had heard really good things about the surgeon I went to. Thankfully, they also deal with all of the insurance stuff so I did not have to stress too much about it.
  7. I was on clear liquids the first 2 days then I was able to start full liquids on day 3. I'm still on full liquids until day 10 when I can move to pureed. I should be able try regular foods at week 4.
  8. Wow. I should be getting mine from UHC shortly. I went to a surgeon that is out of network but they honor the in network rates. I'll be interested to see how much UHC actually pays. I only had to pay what I had remaining of my out of packet max which was about $1300.
  9. I was given the patch to put behind my ear the night before surgery and also an anti nausea pill to take 3 hrs before surgery. I am 6 days out and have yet to experience any nausea.
  10. Good luck! I wasn't nervous at all either. I actually fell asleep while waiting to go into surgery.
  11. I was sleeved on the 18th as well. I'm doing good for the most part. I was in the hospital less than 24 hours. Everything went well and I was up and walking around that day. The first 3 days were not bad at all. Yesterday and today I have been very tired and having a hard time getting all my fluids and Protein in (maybe because I want to sleep all day? lol) I just keep telling myself it will get better! I've been walking everyday...small amounts at a time. I am so over the liquids!! I'm on full liquids until Friday and then I will be able to try pureed. Can't wait. Hope everyone is doing well!
  12. Good luck to both of you!
  13. I was diagnosed with one during my pre op testing but I was sleeved yesterday and there was no hernia to fix.
  14. Well I'm about 13 hrs out of surgery and I'm not feeling to bad but not great either. So far I've been able to get down 12 oz of water and I'm trying some broth in a few minutes. The strangest feeling to me is funny noises my tummy is making-the gurgling. Weird. I get to go home in about 6 hrs.
  15. Well I made it through surgery this morning. i've been sleeping all day. I have some discomfort but not to bad yet. I'll post more when I am feeling up to it. Hope all the other ones having surgery today are doing well!
  16. Me too! It's about 3:30 am and I don't think I've slept at all lol. My check-in is at 7:45... See you on the losers bench!!
  17. I drink premier as well. The chocolate is very tasty...especially if you freeze it then it's like an ice cream shake.
  18. @Chris I have the same fears! Good to know I'm not alone we will do great! No fears...
  19. Im on the 18th as well! We need to keep in touch...good luck to all if us
  20. I am having a very difficult time giving up the diet coke as well and my surgery is on Wednesday.
  21. I was not nervous at all until today. I started packing last night...I think that's what made it finally feel real. You'll probably be to nervous/excited to eat anyways lol. Thankfully my check in is at 7:45 am or I would drive myself crazy with anticipation! Good luck!
