Haven't always been morbidly obese. I reached this stage after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and had to give up outdoor activities that I loved like playing Tennis. When I graduated from college (1979), I weighed 115 lbs. However, I started gaining about 5-10 lbs. a year from my new sedatary life after college. I was active, but everything came to a screeching halt when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1994, and I had already gotten up to about 160 lbs. And over the past 18 years, I worked myself up to my current 265. I would lose weight (20 - 30 lbs. at a time) only to gain it back and then some. So, I would go for long stretches of not dieting b/c I stood a better chance of only gaining maybe 5 lbs. in a year if I didn't diet. Go figure. Anyway, I eventually came to this decision earlier this year and came to the realization that I can't do this on my own and perhaps I should consider WLS. I was horrified that I had to come to this decision and I thought its best to salvage my life and health now, especially since I don't have any family (never been Married and no children), in the event that I continued to have further health problems and no loved ones to help me. So, here we are 1st day of liquid diet and have had a headache all day. Plan to email Dietician to see what I can do to avoid these headaches. Its the wkend now and I can deal with it. But, my job is very demanding and I must do a lot of thinking as an Analyst to do my job. Well, keep me in prayer as I walk this new path. And I wish everyone the best of luck and a new healthy life. I'm only 5', so I hope to reach 125 lbs. one day and a 100 lb. loss by my Surgiversary 6/29/13. If not possible, I'll be content with a 50 - 75 lb. loss.
