Wellbutrin XR comes in 150mg tablets which are tiny...you should have no problem even 4 days after surgery. I didn't. Effexor...you should taper off before surgery if you have the time since you will not be able to take it for a few days. My patients do well going from 150mg to 112.5mg for 3-4mg days then 75 mg for 3-4 days then 37.5 mg for another 3-4 days and then off.

Got my sleeve on June 7. No complicatios, no set backs and 22lb smaller. Best decision I ever made!

I got sleeved on June 7 by Dr. Kelly. I'm an MD. I think that qualifies my opinion. If he had a drug problem, he got over it. That, in my opinion, is a tremedous achievement. I can assure you that he is not using drugs now. I had the opportunity meet his daughter and talked extensively with his wife Cecy and his coordinator, Omar. I also spoke with him on several occasions, of course. The hospital he was using wanted an exclusive on his surgical cases, which in turn would increase the cost of surgeries. We had our fluroscopy (leak test) at that hospital. I did not pick up that he was persona non grata at all. I was very pleased with the hospital he is using now. Coordinators! Give me a break! Loosing a $2000 comission per case would motivate them to bend the truth to their favor. Don't you think? Yes, there was a death. That is a surgical risk. I knew about it before being operated on, and I still chose Dr Ramos Kelly. To this day, I continue to recomend Dr. Ramos Kelly to members of this forum, and to my patients. I hope this helps to clear up the slanderous comments about this Team.

I'm 10 days post op. My upper and lower right teeth have become very sensitive to temperature. I doesn't lastdue to a missing key nutrient long butit's fairly intense. I wondered if it could be due to some vitamin, mineral, or amino acid deficiency.

I have had an excellent experience with Dr Kelly and his team. Excellent hospital too. I had disconfort the first night...all the gas, not the incisions. Walking helped a lot, plus the pain meds I got. I have minimal pain today, I'm sipping Water and ice chips, walking and barely any head hunger. I'm so glad I chose Dr Ramos Kelly! And thank you for all the encouragement and information I have received from all of you.

Hey y'all. I'm a member of this Forum and I am also a physician. Although not a surgeon, I remember my surgical rotations. The drain is a tool the surgeon uses to avoid accumulation of blood in the surgical area. Whether he usess one is a choice he makes based on his experience and the risk of the formation of a bood pocketg. A pocket of blood is irritating to the surrrounding tissues as well as well as a great breeding spot for bacteria. Dr. Ramos Kelly is an excellent surgeon with many many years of experience. He is very definetly an authority in Bariatric Surgery aswell as in other surgical fields. He operated on me on Thursday June 7th. I have no complaints. I was happy to allow him to decide whether I needed a drain or not. I had one and it was no big deal. Removing it on the second day post op did not hurt 1 bit. Plus I had the added benefit of another leak test. In addition, Omar, his coordinator goes the extra mile in meeting all of our needs. Cecy, Dr's wife, is part of the team and she lends her energy and nursing expertise to assure all bases are covered. As you can see I am very pleased with Dr. Ramos Kelly and I recomend him without reservations.

Get the sleeve. That's going all the way.The Band is cumbersome, I had a friend who had it. Hers slipped into her chest. After cardiac cath and a whole cardiac work up she had it removed. Sheis an Emergency Room physician...She's still morbidly obese!

I'm on my post op day 3. I have no pain at all. I had disconfort brcause I had a drain which Dr K took out today. I feel much better. I've had 2 leak test. 1 with a blue dye at the hospital (nothing blue came out of the drain) and at the Angeles Hospital because they have better equipment. Both negative. The hotel has a delicious clear chicken broth. One bowl on arrival, compliments of hotel and anymore cost US$6.30 or so. Cecy, Dr K's wife is a sweetheart. She gave us a tour of San Diego Harbor while we waited on another patient. She help my daughter who had a serious migraine, and she had care packages for our first day at the Hotel Lucerna. The hotel is awesome too. i

I'm getting sleeved June 7 also. I need to shed 80 lb. I'm 5'7'' and 240. If all goes as planned, I fly into San Diego, then Tijuana for surgery with Dr Kelly that afternoon. I'm very excited to finally get really started on my weight loss. There's scared too but gotta do it.

I'll be sleved by Dr Kelly on June 7. I'm a bit confused about what I can eat and how much. I did start liquids only yesterday. I'm having Atkins Shakes and Cream of whatever soups. How much can I have? My last 3 pre-op days are clear liquids...that's very straight forward. Although I have not posted before, I have been reading about your experiences long enough to help me decide to go ahead with my sleeve and Dr Kelly. Thank you all

Thanks, I eating as little as possible....but I've always had a huge appetite. I'm being very careful with fats and cars, but a guy's gotta eat! My BMI is 37...but I'm diabetic and already had an MI.
