  1. so I was banded on Monday July 16th at 3:15 PM...surgery went well, recovery has been great! I only need pain meds every 6-8 hours and it's only because of the port site incision! I just naturally feel so much better and happier than I already felt...this is the best decision I made thus far! my concern however is with thinning hair...I absolutely love my hair and take very good care of it, although I have dreadlocs . I haven't been able to put down 3 8oz cups of Protein for thelife of me! I have honestly tired! I have been eating high protein yogurt and including milk in my daily hot Cereal Breakfast...My mom also made me a nice stew from lean beef meat so I can eat thebroth...do ou think my protein replacement will suffic? i have heard that hair loss is commin with all WLS surgery, but I have also heard that most banders don't have this issue being that our stomachs are left at full size....I guess I just want to know you guys expereicne with being banded and hair loss/thinnig. much apreciated!! Trina
  2. I'm scheduled for July 16th. I really nervous about the insurance approval. I am praying it gets approved and I don't have any delays!
  3. I don't know where to begin. I am excited anxious nervous scared happy all at once! This happened so fast...It feels like It was only yesterday I made an appointment to start the screening process ( 2 months ago actually) and here I am with a surgery date! I am really hoping and praying that my insurance approves it and I can stick with my date of the 16th! Did anyone else go through the process this quick? It's almost like it's not REAL!
  4. thanks for the advice...I have never been quite big on the 'number on the scale' but rather on the size of my waist...once I feel difference in my clothes I know i'm progressing..according to stats I am 105 lbs overweight...BUT I know that I am very solid as I have always worked out so besides big chest and belly...i'm fine haha
  5. Thank you all for the welcome and kind words! i can tell I have come to the right place and can't wait to share with yous my journey.
  6. My name is Trina I'm 30 years old 5'4 255 lbs. Although some of that weight is muscle because I do weight lifting, I am still not happy with my stomach area. I have been struggling with my weight for some time now, and after losing 40 lbs on my own by working out twice a day 5 days a week, and then gaining it back after an accident, I decided that not only was my work out routine not realistic, but that I needed a tool! So I decided to go with the band, and am in the program now running tests before my date is scheduled. Just a little bit on ME
