Stents after removal

Left photo the stents after removal. I had two because they put one in and it migrated down. So I had a second procedure. Right is a photo of the opening in my stomach and I think insertion of my first stent.

Hello!! I have no idea why this leak happened. No. Just the full ache in my low back and the one night and chills and sweats. It was odd!! Other than my back I felt fine. I was living my life and consuming liquid. Treatment of leaks is brutal. Stents are miserable!!! I am so much better these days. My sleeve was done dec 5th. Today is my first day on PURÉES!! I still require medical attention from a few doctor. But I am not hospitalized or going to treatments everyday. It's so great!! The leak was and Still is causing pain and trouble. I wouldn't wish this in anyone. It's a tough road!!! I hope you never have to endure this. I wish you smooth sailing!! Best, Sannah

For some reason I can't get my post to work. Fingers crossed for this one!! I had a dull ache in my low back for a few days. One night of sweats and chills. But I looked healthy. When I saw the surgeon, she said there was no way I had a leak. I looked too healthy. I hoped it was the case. During my entire treatment she kept saying how hard this was because I looked so healthy. She kept me in the hospital for an extended stay and lots if treatment. If I can say anything about this leak. It's listen to your body. You know it best. I am so glad I listened to my body. My experience was long and painful. However always better safe than sorry!!! A dull ache in my low back. Then one night of chills and sweats. When I saw for surgeon for this she needed to do all the testing to be sure. But she said there was no way I had a leak. I looked too good and appeared healthy!! So you never know. I have learned that I know my body best. Glad I received prompt medical care. Always better safe than sorry!!

Hello! Good evening! Not sure why or how I received a leak. I don't blame my surgeon or myself. This took a little while. For a while I questions if I was a bad person in the past life to deserve this. I am at peace now, be a use I really I am okay and going to live!! . It took a while to get here, leaks come with a lot of emotions. I am so lucky!! My husband has a great job and was out of work with pay for a long time!! My husband was by my side every single day and night jn the hospital. He left to eat inly if a family member was by my side. My mom, sister and Dad have spent many many hours at my house taking care of my 16 month old daughter. I am SO thankful for all of the support from my family friend s and December Sleevers!! Woo hoo!! Time to Dance!! way to go!!!

Hi!! Happy to see all the familiar faces!! How are you doing? My leak presented as a low dull back ache. I was about two weeks out and doing great other than the nagging back ache. I spent weeks in the hospital, all of the holiday season! . Stents for six weeks. Then was going to have a claw in place- thankfully I didn't have to have this. I have been through a lot. My leak was on the upper part of my stomach. It caused me to have fluid on my heart. I have been pretty sick. But starting to get a lot better. Today I start PURÉES. I am still receiving a lot of care. But I don't have a PICC or midline anymore!! I no longer require daily transfusion care. I am alive and adjusting. There were several moments and times I asked the dr if I was going to die. I have been to the bottom of the pit!! Things can only get better from this point on!!! I am trying to figure out how to post photos. So you can see the leak and stents. I hope your doing well! . I am typing on my phone. It's hard. I hope all makes sense.

I wasn't well enough to think and post or read. I have been in and out of the hospital since surgery. I had my stents out a little over two weeks ago. I am on the mends from a very wild ride. Surgery was a breeze!! This leak has been a beast!!! I hope no one else has to endure this. Thank you for the well wishes!! How are you doing?

Oh my goodness!! It's so amazing!!! I am so thankful for today and the opportunity to try foods!! The squash is going to be amazing!!!

So it's raining great news in my world!! I did have and still have a tough time with my heart. But the cardiologist had so much good news! Then today I was able to talk with the surgeon who did my stents, my new doctor and that agree that I can now have PURÉED FOODS!! This is a big deal!!! I am so happy!!! I bought some squash to try tonight!! I can't believe that is happening!! It feels so amazing!! I am going weekly to massage and acupuncture!! I started this today. Man it feels good!!! We are working on some points to help with how cold I feel!! The lady I see her hubby had the by pass and complications. So strange... So she gets what I am going through!! Sleeved December 5th. Had a leak, but in track with my weight loss. Down 64 pounds. Still on liquids only and I hope to transition to puréed foods soon!!

I am not sure if I can eat. Everyone who has cared for me has a different idea. Things will be delayed longer because I am transitioning care. My nut can't see me until she has medical proof that I am safe to eat. So some how she will need to get documentation that my leak is healed. I called to get this process started.

Also.. The cardiologist said If I can start to eat my heart may improve!! I do not like salt. I have never been a fan. I do not add salt to my food and have always brought low sodium when it's an option. Suddenly I need salt. This is bad, like I could easily grind in it in a spoon and enjoy!! What is going on with me? My husband was in shock to see me eating salt. I am having some blood work. Weird right?

Hello All! I hope you guys are all having a great evening. I saw the cardiologist today, he is younger!!! This is something that I really like about him. He is calm and centered and was able to address all of my questions. I feel so positive and very confident in his ability. I am now informed about my heart health and the processes that need to take place. Great news! He is allowing me stop one medication that I take 9 pills of a day. This medication is dreadful!!! I have miserable side effects. I have to taper off and I am okay with this. I was also taking the highest dosage and he was not surprised to hear of all the problems I was having when I took it. Dilated pupils, back pain, nausea, vomitting, red hot face,severe head pain, aching joints and dizziness. I was taking this medicine three times a day!! I dreaded this medicine, because I knew I would be out of commission after taking it!!! I AM SO HAPPY TO STOP!!! He believes my leak has really agitated my heart. He says I will recover, but doesn't know how long it will take. Could be months... Could be years... So, we'll see. My heart is clear of Fluid and inflammation! Beating normal this time. Prior I was having irregular heart beats. I need to wear a heart monitor for 2-3 weeks. He said I can think about this. I am kind of done with medical devices being in or on my body and space. So, although I still require care things are surely looking up! I have a doctor who is able to explain my condition to me and give me a clear treatment plan! I am so happy and thankful for this!!
