I also have a ring around my espaghous Nissan procedure. After going thru all the steps I was told by physicians in Memphis Tn I would not be able to have the surgery. I was told that perhaps I could have the surgery at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville tn. I'm on a fixed income and there's no guarantee they will be able to do the surgery Please if anyone knows anything I could please let me know. I finished all my pre op steps. I told my patient advocate that I shouldn't start my pre op diet for my liver. Before hand I was told my surgery would be in late September early October.

Congrats to all the sleevers. I was told in June of this year I was approved for the sleeve. I went thru ALL of the steps. Classes dr appt etc. At the end of everything I was expecting to be in surgery late September early n October. On my last consult I was told I was not a candidate for laparoscopic because of two mesh repairs. I'm in Memphis tn. No dr in Memphis will do an open cut. I was referred to Nashville Tn. I'm disabled and don't have the funds nor transportation. I'm so diss appointed its unreal. Sorry for the long text. Just venting. .....SMH

Thanks so much for replying. I thought I would be getting sleeved much faster....especially when the patient advocate told me my surgery was approved ugh!!! I have to have 6 months of paper work from dr stating my weight etc. since I was seeing my dr already for the weight gain she was able to go back to April. Yeah !!!! So I've got July , August , and September. My consult with my nut is in August. I hope maybe they will speed it up lol.

Ok just got from dr appt Has anyone gotten the sleeve with mesh already in. I had my one on one with the dr and he said since I've had 2 hernia repairs he may not be able to do the sleeve. Has anyone experienced this.

Thanks sooooo much guys! I've been praying for this for long. I got a phone call saying I was approved. I haven't told the drs which procedure I would like.... But after researching the sleeve procedure that's what I want. This is a good support forum.

Hi Im glad I found this site! I got approved... But I don't see the surgeons till the 6th. I've already got a phyc who I've been seeing. Anyone know if I'll have to see her again? Also will the surgeon give me a date? I'm nervous, but I'm tired of this weight and people that I know personally asking me if I'm pregnant. Sigh
