  1. Today was awesome! I officially hit 50 pounds and am now under 200 weighing in at 198! I was banded two months ago and I had lost 18 pounds the month prior. So I posted this photo on Facebook and it was so encouraging to see how many people liked and commented on my photos!! People really are supportive! I'd love to see more before and after photos of people!

50 Pounds Down And Into Onederland!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!!! Mariamaria1070- I did the two photos through the Picstitch app. So many people are so close to being under 200! It's such a great feeling and I know you'll get there!

Two Months Later, Still No Fill

When I had my surgery all of the pre op nurses hinted at the same thing! I would've switched doctors, but I was already so close to getting the band I didn't want to put it on hold longer. He is a great surgeon, but not the nicest. I'm planning on moving to Dallas in 6 months anyway (I would have never told him that) so I will be finding a doctor there!

Two Months Later, Still No Fill

I take it you have Dr. Woodman. I had plication with my band and I found out he doesn't like to give any fills when you have the plication done (almost ever). I've lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks, and I plan on having 7 more off by my post op appointment on the 16th. But I would still love a slight fill. I'm 22 and my mom came to some appointments with me since I'm self-pay and she's helping me. He totally has the hots for her so I might need to bring her in with me! Haha But don't let him tell you 20 pounds isnt great! Get back on your diet and make sure you're working out too (it has to be both, not one or the other). Show him up You can do it!!!

Share You Weight Loss Please :)

Everyone is doing great! I've lost 18lbs post op and it's been a month and 4 days since surgery! And I lost 18 pre op, so I'm excited to report that I've lost 36 pounds in about two months! Hoping to loose 14 more by the time I start my last semester of college in three weeks!

    Youngster Bandster??

Hey! I'm 22 and I've been banded for a month! Having people close to your age is great, but every one here is so encouraging too! This is such a great forum and the band is such an awesome tool! I've lost 34 pounds total (18 pre-op and 16 post). Seeing the numbers on the scale go down is an amazing feeling! You'll do so well you'll be shocked every time you get on the scale!
  7. Hello! This is my first post on here. I'm 21 years old and am going through the process to get banded. I am self-pay, so thankfully I won't have to wait on insurance. So many people keep telling me that since I'm significantly younger than the average band patient that the weight should come off easier. Has anyone noticed a difference with your weight loss compared to other people who might be a bit older? I'm so excited about getting banded and this forum is so helpful!

    2 Weeks Post Op Weightloss

Thanks everyone for the encouragement! I'm in a new city for an internship so I'm finally getting in the groove of a routine and I've joined a gym for the month in here. I'm excited to start working out again! Hopefully the weight will start to come off then!
  9. Hey everyone! Im 2 weeks post op. the first week I dropped 10 pounds. But I haven't lost a single pound since then! I know 10 is a lot for one week, but it's so frustrating to not be losing anymore at all! Has anyone else gone through the same thing? I had the band with plication. And I know my doctor doesn't like to do fills very often when he does plication. I'm just nervous that the band won't work for me!

How Are My Plication Friends Doing?

I'm glad you see everyone is doing so well! Plication was definitely an awesome decision! I'm rarely hungry! And I've lost 8.5 pounds in 6 days! I know this will start to slow down soon, but I'm just going to enjoy it while it's still happening. I'm at 221.6, and I hope to be in the 100's by the time school starts back at the end of August!

    How Weird!!!!

The same thing is happening to me! I'm a few days post-op and I've been on pinterest finding healthy foods for when I can start to eat solids in a month! I found recipes that look delicious and are low fat and low cal. But I also made sure there were some simple ones that I know won't take long to make so I can never have the excuse of "I have no time to cook." But all of the healthy stuff looks so delicious!

    Lap Band With Gastric Plication

I was bands with plication this past Monday (June 25th)! I'm feeling much better today, but I'm having some trouble focusing on my homework for my online class. Haha I can't wait to start seeing results! I start full liquids tomorrow and I can't wait to have something other than broth! Lol I started at 248 and got down to 230 post-op. And am currently at 228. I'm 5'5 and I'm 22.
  13. I was banded with plication yesterday (June 25th)! I've progressively felt better since then! I get up and walk every now and then and move at a pretty quick pace. Gas pain is very minimal. Gas X strips work pretty great! Getting up and down is rough and I'm sleeping in a recliner because it's difficult to lie down in my bed and to get back up. I don't like chicken broth so I took the flavor packet from ramen noodles and made Soups with it. I feel satisfied with such a small amount of it. When I tried a sugar free popcsicle I could only eat half of it! I looked like such a dork smiling while I was eating because I was just so excited that for the first time in my life I feel like I can finally control my portions! And it's only day 2! I'm leaving for an internship on Sunday where I'll be on my feet all day long for the next six weeks so I'm hoping bending will start to become easier!
