  1. I don't think it's common knowledge, at least not here in Argentina. Anyway the doctor should've told her patient about it (if she previously told him about her fertility issues, obviously), it doesn't matter if it's common knowledge or not. If you want to read about the adipose regulation of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis just google Leptine :tongue2: Saludos
  2. I've been banded for 2 years now. One of the best things i've done in my life. I got my band when i was 18 and it changed my life in so many ways, friends, confidence, sports, music, sex, family, mood, and it goes on and on.
  3. It has been one of the best weeks of my life, everything is getting better and better each day. Today i woke up and the scale got to 187 and stoped there, i couldn't belive it i was just so happy i woke up my mom to give her a hugh. Getting lap band was the best decision i ever made, it changed my body and it improved me in so many ways i could never point each one out. Now it's time to keep being as healthy as i can, eating right, excercising and being happy with my new me . Thx to everybody in LBT for being such a great inspiration and to teach me so many things about this journey, things that i could never learn any other way. My Journey: Pre-Band (352 lbs) October 22, 2006 (Around 300 lbs) January 15, 2007 (250 lbs) August 14, 2007 (187 lbs) Thx for everything and saludos from Argentina, South America
  4. I'm 18 (turning 19 next month). It has been the best thing i ever done in my short life, without a doubt. I don't really mind telling people about it, almost everybody knows and i'm really glad it's that way, i needed help and i got it just as simple as that... i don't have any reasons to be ashamed

  8. The I have bones one rules :scalesno:, the one about the knees it's also true. I would add "Hey, I have muscles!", after some weeks of weight lifting in the gym <img src="http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/happy.gif" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="60" class="inlineimg" />

  15. What's the problem with the band being "the easy way out"? i don't really care how i did it, i just care that i'm finally out . And the people that says "he got surgery" are just envious
  16. I have that problems too, but i know that it's way better to face the problems than hidding them under a big pile of food. In the past when i had a problem i used to eat lots of food and forget about the whole problem, now i try to deal with the problem so at the end of the day it won't bother anymore.
  17. I was watching an extreme makeover TV show and i got curious about weight related surgerys, so i sat down on the PC and in 30 minutes i wanted to get the band. Told my parents, got insurance aproval and here iam

  20. I was watching a TV show where they show surgerys and tell the story of why is the surgery happening and all that kind of stuff, there was this huge 40 year old male getting a hip replacement if i recall correctly and i though "i'm only 17 (was at that time) but within a couple years if i continue this way that could be me, it's time to do something for myself" and then went to my parents and told them i wanted a lap-ban to help me with my weight issues because i couldn't deal with them by myself, and they were 100% supportive Good Luck, saludos! :clap2:
  21. 6 small meals for me! :hungry: Good Luck, saludos! :clap2:
  22. I use it as a lifestyle change, i diet yes but i'm not too worried about going off the diet. When i have the chance to go to an asado (similar to american barbacue ) or a family dinner i eat everything i want, in smaller portions obviously but i don't really count calories (i did a while ago but i found out it was very stressing so i just stopped)
