  1. I haven't been banded yet but am starting the process. I attended the seminar on March 8th and sent in all my paperwork, but on March 19th I received a call from the admin stating that my insurance company (BCBS of Arkansas- with my husband's work) would only cover $4,000 and the total amount they submit to insurance is about $35,000!!! I'm not sure why the cost is so high! I've heard several people mention prices around $10,000 - $18,000. So now I'm battling with the insurance company, trying to get dropped from that plan so I can enroll in Aetna through my work. All of this information came to light right after the close of benefits enrollment for both of us, so it looks like I might be waiting until next year to start my journey. It might be for the best as I want to make darn sure that this is the right decision for me. I've been overweight since childhood and have tried every fad diet, exercise program, gym membership, etc... that's out there. I'm tired all the time and have terrible problems with both of my feet that make most exercise an absolute nightmare. It also seems like I'm spending more and more money- year after year- to lose weight and end up heavier every time! I'm definitely looking forward to advise, tips and testimonials from those who have already been banded and those of you who might be in the same tight spot as I am.
