candyl41 reacted to LoriLeeAnne in 52 day menstrual cycleI have never had a normal menstrual cycle due to PCOS. (I hardly ever had my period, and the Doc would give me the Depo shot to make my body have one every once in a while.) Since having LB surgery nearly 4 months ago, I have had my periods start back up again. I have had two. Yay! (I hope to have a baby still, even at the age of 37.) I've charted them as 52 days apart, not the average 28 days. I seemed to ovulate for more than a few days two weeks prior to having my second period. I haven't been worried- and have assumed that everything is "shaking out" and normalizing for me. On the other hand, I worry that now that I'm having my period, they are 52 days apart. What do you guys think about it? I'm down 37 pounds! I love my band!

candyl41 reacted to SageTracey in Treated Differently NowSadly it seems that some people value their so-called friendship with us because it makes them feel better or superior and when we improve our lives, they no longer feel as if they are better than us. Just remember that you can control your reactions, not theirs. Don't let their reactions change your commitment to improving your life. True friends will be with you through thick and thin, just as you will be for them.

WOW you have no idea how I needed to hear that this morning. With the Holidays this weekend, and the thoughts of family and food all around me, your successful weight loss with the band and PCOS is music to my ears.
Not a day has gone by for the past 8 years since I was diagnosed with PCOS, that I dont think about what I put into my mouth. If I dont I shutter to think how much my weight would climb to. My nutritionist also said that this is going to be a harder road for me with the PCOS, but that EXERCISE is the key.
So, my basement is cleaned out and a treadmill is now sitting there (just waiting for me to use it) LOL
I told myself that no matter what I will walk 30 min a day, and weather permitting I hope to get outside and get more active. My surgery is scheduled for June 11th and I am just in the pre-Op testing Phase with all my doctors.
Well keep up the great work and have a Happy Holiday Weekend. I welcome any advice you have for me
