Hi there I had my thyroid gland remove in 2008 and I was 16 stone before had it removed and then I put on 8 stone in 10 months then got referred for surgery and then as soon as got a date found out I have type 1 diabetes, so had to weight till it was under control so then went back in to see doctor and I was going to have bypass but would not do it so they said band would be better had band fitted dec 2012, had 3 fills I'm up to 7 1/2 mls in 14 ml band and still not restriction, and really upsets me cause I don't think it going to work. Day of surgery I was 20.7 and now 17.10.

Hi there im in the same postion as you, i had band fitted on 21 of dec 2012, day of surgery i was 20.7 and now im 17.8 im really finding it has cause i dont think i have much restiction i have a 14 ml band but only 7 half ml in, i have been trying to concive for the last 6 years but having pcos as well is not easy i thought losing weight would help but nothing seem to at the moment.
  3. I had first fill he put 5 ml in but I have 10 ml band weight loss is ok but really not sure what I should be eating and how many calories we should be having stuff like that, had fill on the 17 of feb next one not till 3 of may

Really I had mine on the 21 of dec and I'm finding it really hard to cope with at the moment had a fill but don't feel any restriction and doctor didn't explain about the band very much as was ment to have a bypass but then had to change before op as got type 1 dieabities and they didn't want to give me a bypass and things go wrong with the dieabities.
  5. Hi peeps anyone here from England that's had band fitted and how long.
