@ AmandaBelle75 congratulations on having a tentative date. I hope all goes smoothly. I am new and have not even had my first consultation appointment yet - it is on Monday April 9th. How long has the process taken - from initial appointment to actual surgery date? I know it is different for everyone, but I am just curious about the different time lengths people are experiencing.

@mommee2one - I like your comment, "I don't even know what that would look like on me lol." I think about that ALOT when considering my goal weight. No matter what it is I will look completely different lol. I am excited and scared all at the same time lol @mbmama - congratulations on receiving an estimated surgery date within 2 months. That is what I am hoping for. My intial meeting is approaching - April 9th. It seems like it is taking forever Is the sleep study to determine if you have sleep apnea?

Thank you for the information. It does seem like a fairly quick process. I have CareFirst BCBS and have met most of the pre-requisites. The one that I beleive would drag the process out is the 6 month of supervised dieting, but I have already completed. So far I have attended an informational seminar, sent the surgeons office a copy of my insurance card and completed and returned a huge 20-25 page packet of papers. I would love to have a surgery date in May or June, but I do not know how realistic that is.

Hello Everyone, I am new to this site and I have enjoyed reading many posts. I have my first consultation on April 9th. What usually happens in that first meeting? Before I was given an appointment, I had to fill out about 20 - 25 pages of information and return it to the Surgeons office, Is that normal? I am meeting with the surgeon and the nutritionist on the same day, at my first consultation, is that normal? I am excited about starting the process, but I am also very anxious. I have already completed most of the pre-requisites that my insurance requires. I think the only one that I have not completed is a psychiatric evaluation. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

Hi mommee2one, I am new also and not too far from you. I live in Laurel, Md and I have my first consultation on April 9th. I am very curious to know what to expect in that first meeting. I am scheduled to see the surgeon and nutritionist the same day. After your appointment can you please let me know how your consultation went? Did your surgeons office have you fill out about 20 - 25 pages worth of information before they scheduled your consultation? Mine did and it made me realize how unhealthy I truly am, but this is a great turn for the better in my life and all of ours. Here's to the our healthy future...CHEERS!
