    The Sagamore criteria for lap band is: diagnosis of morbid obesity, 40% BMI , or twice your IBW. I am 35% BMI and have 3 comorbidities. Dr has not submitted the predetermination yet. Is it likely to get approved? Opinions, suggestions, or advice needed. Thanks in advance!

    Criteria for insurance is a BMI of 40% or that you wegh twice your IBW &. have a diagnosis of morbid obesity. No mention of obesity related disorders. My BMI is 35% and I have diabetes, high cholesterol, and obstructive sleep apnea. Also, the my blood pressure, gets a little bit higher every month. Any advice on getting my insurance to approve me for lap band surgery?
