  1. For each insurance company it is different. Make sure to check with your surgeon's insurance coordinator for a detailed listing of what the surgery will require. My insurance does require a doctor sign off on six months of supervised weight loss. I think it is simply a deterrent for those who aren't serious about getting the surgery. Gotta love insurance companies.
  2. @emonie71 you have to have all of this stuff done before hand and sent in with the paperwork BEFORE the insurance company approves you. Every insurance is different, so check with your doc and insurance coordinator be sure of what the paperwork requirements are. No sense of getting denied when all of your stuff hasn't been put in. I have 5 more months ahead of me before I can get surgery approval because of the required 6 month supervised weight loss requirement by a physican. Just hoops and ladders to make one wait. SMH.
  3. Well I am 32, but you sound just as excited as I am! I am in the Bronx, so Brooklyn is like another state to me LOL.
