  1. Im just curious to hear if anyone has any regrets about being sleeved? How long post-op? Doctor used? Any complications?
  2. After sleeve surgery, how long do you have to take heartburn and acid reflux medicine? A month? A year? Forever (god I hope not)!
  3. Bedhead who was your surgeon? I truely hope things get better for you. Keep your head up and stay positive!
  4. You guys are all amazing and all have wonderful advice, thank you! I guess what im going thru now is just plain being scared! Thats the only way to describe it. Its like a rollercoaster, oneday im excited to do it and the next im terrified! It makes me feel better knowing im not the only who feels like this. Thanks again!
  5. I completely agree with u! Its just the fact that i will never be able to drink beer again... Knowing u cant do something again scares me a little thats all!
  6. Ponyup I know exactly how you feel. Ive thought of all the same things and played the scenarios over and over in my mind. I really wish I could afford to do the surgery in my hometown rather than mexico also, thats just one more thing on my mind since I hate to fly!
  7. Yeah i have never been a fan of foreign objects left inside me! I always thought something may happen. And then i always knew oneday they would have to go back in and retrieve it!
  8. Im having straight VSG. I also have a few great doctors in my area ( Orlando, FL ) like Dr Kim who is very well known but he wants $18,000 and in Florida it is VERY rare for ANY insurace to cover WLS! Its a Florida thing cause were a no fault state!
  9. Yes I talked to Nina... She answered everything I asked with the answers I hope for. I have researched and researched and from what im finding out, hes the best in Mexico! Plus hes very highly respected by the US doctors and he doesnt "skimp" or take shortcuts! Everything he does compared to the others, appears safer. After surgery u stay in a hospital for 3 days so the can watch u rather than send u to a hotel on the second day. He also gives u 3 leak test rather than 1! They have a special price now for $8750 all inclusive which is normally $9500. Lastly if he finds ANYTHING wrong while ur in surgery or while ur in Mexico, he will fix it for FREE! Hes completed over 1300 sleves and you cant really compare him to anyone else in my book! Hope this helps!
  10. Thank you everyone for your honest opinions, you have all helped put my mind at ease!
  11. Yes Im going with Dr. Aceves, I just got off the phone with them and Im 100% sure he's who im using! Thank you everyone for your honest opinions!
  12. Well I narrowed my three doctors down to Dr. Kelly or Dr. Aceves or Dr. Alverez all in Mexico.... Any suggestions wheather good or bad?
  13. Ok so im ready to go, got my money, pretty sure what doctor I'm going to use in Mexico and mentally ready except for this: I cant help but wonder what life will be like without certain things such as drinking a beer, your morning bagel, eating a nice dinner out with my wife and drinking a nice glass of iced tea WITH my meal! I realize i will still be able to do most of the SOMEWHAT, but it will be different! Can anyone help me with this? I cant imagine a cracker being my entire meal or taking an hour to drink a beer,if at all! I cant mentally stop thinking about it!
