  1. Everyone else can see that I have lost weight, but I myself can't, as I look the same. I only know because I'm wearing a smaller size. Physically, everything looks the same (just heading south). My nephew jumped on the scales before his bath on the weekend and he weighed 21kg. I've nearly lost the weight of my nephew. He's a heavy little thing too. (He's 4 1/2). Scary when you look at it that way.
  2. One week overdue really.... And no I'm not pregnant I'm seeing surgeon on Monday, so hopefully I lose between now and then.
  3. I weigh myself every Tuesday morning.
  4. Weighed myself this morning..................and I've gained. Excuse the language, but how the f**k can I have gained weight. Today I am 9 weeks post op. Granted the gain was only 600gm, it's still a gain. How is this possible?
  5. I just checked the catalogue online and nothing in there.
  6. Has anyone seen Michelle Bridges' "One Active" range at Big W? Had a look at this over the weekend and I like what's available and it's all reasonably priced. I wasn't in the mood to try anything on though.
  7. Having my first fizzy drink in almost 2 months (Coke Zero) and whilst it's going down OK, feels funny in my stomach.
  8. Yes...excess skin. My biggest dread. Things have been heading south for me for many years, so what I have is only going to get worse. I too am giving myself 2 years post reaching goal weight to see how I go. I know it's not going to snap back and mysteriously disappear (one can only wish). I'm already scoping out plastic surgeons in the area and researching costs etc on the internet.
  9. I cleaned out my wardrobe about 2 weeks ago and threw out sooo many clothes. I've kept some eveningish dresses, not sure why as they'll all be too big, but there's 2 I hope to fit into again by Christmas time, but they might end up swimming on me too by then. I've been told that the op shop will become my friend whilst losing weight. You have excellent friends there Shellz helping you out.
  10. I myself was holding off buying clothes but my size 24 pants just refused to stay up. Am now wearing size 18 and they should last me a few months. I just got a pair of stretchy pants from Target with the yoga folderover style waist band.
  11. You have to learn to listen to your body. There are still times where I tend to OD on my meals and feel really full. Need to retrain the brain.
  12. I'm still on that forum once in a blue moon, but find it so hard to navigate that website and things move really slowly. Plus there's **** everywhere LOL.
  13. Back off. In time you'll be able to increase your intake, but for now, take things easy. At the first sign of discomfort, stop and maybe try a bit again. Try just having a teaspoon of soup at a time and take your time eating it.
  14. I don't drink alcohol, so that's not an issue for me. I'm using to drinking with my meals, so if I'm out, I'm only taking tiny little sips of Water, just to not raise any suspicion amongst my fellow diners.
  15. Hi Kelli, Yeah it's normal to feel discomfort in the first week or so after surgery. I had quite a bit of pain trying to eat soup. It just wouldn't go down. I think I could only manage a few tablespoons at a time.

  17. I'm seeing my dietician on Wednesday so I'll ask her if it's normal to 'feel hungry'. I'm trying not to snack between my main meals as I don't want to fall into a pattern of eating crap again and jeopardise my sleeve. I know it's impossible, but constant snacking just because got me to where I was pre surgery. I've been really bad and haven't had any Opti shakes and my protein intake is rather low. I'm struggling to drink 1lt of Water.
  18. Don't feel it as much today, thanks. I'll see how I go tomorrow.
  19. What is everyone snacking on, if you are snacking. I currently have the Mainland 'On The Go' Tasty Light cheese with crackers.
  20. I'm 7 weeks post op and only yesterday started to feel pain at the far right lap port site. Not sure what is going on there. Will see my GP tomorrow between patients if it's still bothering me. I'm not due to see my surgeon til next month.
  21. I was initially on basic but had to change to top and wait out the 12 months. I paid $2500 for the surgeon and $188 for the anaesthesiologist. Everything else was covered by my PHI or Medicare.
  22. I didn't have any drains post op. I guess each case is different. How good does a shower feel?!
  23. Wow had no idea it cost that much without PHI. I did mean to ask my surgeon but never got around to it. Glad I got PHI.
  24. With regards to stages, I was on the Fluid phase (1) for 2 weeks instead of 1 week, but no harm done. I just wanted to be safe. I was then on puree for 2 weeks and now on soft stage for 4 weeks. Some things are easier to get down than others. I do recommend the Knife, Fork, Band book which has a multitude of recipes for pre and post surgery. It's aimed for those being banded, but the recipes also work well for us sleevers.
