  1. I have started on the pureed stage (2 1/2 weeks post op) and have only been able to eat no more than 1 1/2 teaspoons of food. I have had a sweet potatoe, cottage cheese and soup. When I tried the sweet potatoe and ate a little too much I immediately threw up. Is that a normal amount to start with and how long does it take to be able to eat more than that? I mean, at some point, will I be able to eat more- I realize that my meals will be small, but just how much?
  2. I had the same type of meltdown on Day 4- started crying about what I had done. You will get over that as you start to feel better. These 6 weeks on liquids/pureed and soft foods seem to last forever, but when I look at the numbers on the scale or in the mirror and can see a difference, it makes it worth it! Hang in there!
  3. I had my surgery 2/9. Have been doing pretty well, but have been trying to switch to the pureed food stage for the past two days. Not sure just how much to eat- have been just trying a few bites. So far, have had sweet potato with cheese, chicken noodle soup all mashed up and a little bit of oatmeal. Also, started exercising just a little bit on a stair stepper. I have lost 16.6 lbs since surgery, and 27 since I started this whole journey. So, what about you?
  4. I am 2 weeks 2days post op and today I feel really crummy- not hungry, not thirsty, bloated, tired. Have not lost any weight for a couple of days. Am I too far out from surgery for my incision to be leaking (that was a big worry for me)? Am forcing myself to drink fluids, even tho I could be eating pureed foods. Nothing seems appealing. Is this normal?
  5. HI, my surgery was Feb. 9th. Have lost 15 lbs so far. I am so glad to have found this site as I hate going to support groups in person. I have really learned alot already from reading through the posts.
