  1. Thank you for the info. I looked at the site. Ill certainly put this on my list of possibilities.
  2. Thank you Enjoying. Mr. Worm, I have group thru my employer. I don't know if that makes a difference. Guess I'll try. Prepared for battle. But if self pay is the only way, it will be a long haul. Single parenting isn't real conducive to saving cash in todays economy. But will exhaust all options to better this life. Trying to stay positive.
  3. Yay. High marks for my employer (insert eyeroll here) They opted out of bariatric coverage to decrease our costs. Anthem being one of the insurers that typically approves surgery. Anyone had any luck with getting approval with medical necessity in this situation? If not, I guess Ill be scrounging under the sofa cushions for awhile to head to Mexico. Feeling emotionally (not physically) deflated. :|
  4. Wow! Amazing. You look great! It amazes me everytime I read these success stories that I could go from this to an accomplishment like yours. : )
  5. Well..doc appt today. My BMI is 38 and Im being sent for a sleep study. She's completely supporting me for surgery and said to let her know what I needed from her and when. Nice to have her support. Makes me feel a little closer to living the life I have only dreamed. 1 step at a time.
  6. Im considering Dr. Elliot with HCA Parham. Any other sleevers have experience with him?
  7. Welcome and good luck.

  16. I've been lurking and reading your stories and seeing the comraderie and support makes me even more sure of my decision. Like most, I've struggled my whole life. Pretty much since puberty at age 11. I'm 37 now. Healthy lifestyles, every pill put on the market, every fad diet. Only to become frustrated or rebound with a vengeance. I'm tired. I don't WANT a long life if I just have to watch it go by. I have a 12 yr old son and I'm a single mom. I just looked thru 200+ photos since my sons birth. I have been captured in exactly 5. 1 portrait when he was 2 months old. 4 I am looking away or partially hiding. I cried. I've missed his whole life. He'll be grown in a few short years and based on photos he will have of me, I was nonexistent. I have high bp, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, joint pain , back pain..hospitalized with TIA symptoms in November. I've been considering WLS for 4 years. But was afraid. Now with the sleeve option, I attended a seminar and plan to talk to my doctor Friday. This may be my only chance to live my life and to give my son his mom back while I still can. I'm 5'0 and 198lbs.You all are so motivational. Its time for me to start my journey. Thank you all for giving me the extra courage.
