  1. A couple of days ago I tried the powdered protein (same brand) in milk. Just when I was getting ready to report 'no stomach ache' it hit me! OWIE! Today, I mixed the powder with rice milk. So far, so good! I also picked up some individual packets of Chike at the drs office. Haven't tried them yet. AND, I HAVE A SURGERY DATE! March 23rd! It's definitely a God-thing!
  2. Sounds good to me!
  3. Overeaters Anonymous is a wonderful organization that helps us get to the root of our addiction. Like any other tool, it works if you work it! There is also Celebrate Recovery, another fine organization, which is Bible-based. I know for me it is important to keep working on the "whys" I eat, even after I have my surgery.
  4. Yes, it is RTD! Although, it took me awhile to figure out what RTD stands for! I also have powder, so will try it now. I do appreciate the tips. Hoping to get a surgery date this week, so I do want to be prepared!
  5. I am trying protein drinks. Had my first one last night, one for breakfast and one for lunch today. Last night I had a terrific stomach ache, but I thought it was because I took my vitamins too late. I am having the stomach ache today, too. Anyone else had this happen from protein drinks? Is there a way to prevent them or help with the absorption better? All I could think was if I can't tolerate this, I could be in major trouble!
  6. Prayers coming from Nevada!
  7. "Something hard: not having told many friends. Cause suddenly I needed a whole lot of prayers and some extra love." Please know I am and will be praying!
  8. I am blessed to be a part of the most wonderful prayer group. They are praying for me and support me every step of the way. Whether they agree with my decision or not, they know I have prayed, researched, and prayed some more! As a grateful believer in Jesus Christ, I know this is God's plan for me at this time. If anyone wants to argue with me about it, they can take it up with HIM! But so far that has not happened. Since my husband and I live with and take care of my parents, I of course told them, as Jerry will have to be the caregiver as I recover. Dad and Mom, as well as my two adult children, are ecstatic about this for me, as they have worried about my weight for many years. The only one I have purposely not told is one of my sisters. She suffers from debilitating anxiety, and the worrying about me will not be good for her. Luckily, she lives in Oklahoma! I do not have a date yet, but am getting all the pre-op stuff out of the way, and I hope to get my date next week.
  9. I am so boring.....my husband's first initial, my first initial, and our last name!
  10. I am in Boulder City, hoping to have my surgery next month.
