    Flipped Port

I am curious of the same thing, I have similar pains - cannot even roll onto my side sleeping without hurting...someone help some gals out on what it may be?

    February Bandsters?

Where you might not be able to get the protein shots reasonably, maybe your local health food or vitamin shop would have alternatives that are similar and affordable

    February Bandsters?

Yeah, I bought a few for my husband to use. He says they aren't too bad but can come off tasting REALLY sweet at times. Think it would be an issue to add a bit of water in with them?

    February Bandsters?

I'm right there with you Erica! We were banded the same day, and I have one more week to go before I can even think of a lovely creamy potato soup. LOL. We can do it!!!

    February Bandsters?

Oh, good. I was beginning to think that it may have just been me not trying hard enough! LOL. It has only been a week, as I said. I know that a lot of the swelling has gone down, making it a bit easier to determine what I need and don't, but it is still really difficult with the proteins. Thank you for responding, it's encouraging to know when other's feel or have felt what you do!

    I'm Sabotaging Myself, Any Advice?

Couldn't agree more that it is easier with family onboard to support you through the rough journey! Thankfully my husband and I got banded the same day, so we are both enduring the same torture right now. LOL. LittleAmberofky - everything I have looked at previously said that dark meats are typically easier, but that a simple marinade can make a world of difference on chicken breast too - keeping it moist and easier to swallow. You can do it, I know you can! Thankfully all of us on this site are going through, or have endured these same struggles!
  7. Hehe, it's good to whine sometimes. I found that if I have a headache, a lot of the time, I'm just really thirsty. Good luck with your night shift!!

    February Bandsters?

Hey Debbie, Just curious, since I have only been banded for a week, were you able to get in all your protein recommended for the day on liquids? I am having a very hard time doing so, and I know I really need to as proteins help burn fat and calories, but I am literally only able to get about 30 of my 40-60 required and it's driving me mad trying to figure out how to fit the rest in. Grats on your 12 lbs so far!! You are on your way!! -Amanda
  9. Every doctor is different in how they want their pre-op diet to go. My doctor required my husband and I to have 2 low carb protein shakes, one for breakfast and lunch, and then dinner consisted of 4-6 oz. of a lean meat and as many green veggies as we wanted. As for the headache, it sounds like you are having sugar issues. I would call your doctor's office and find out of it is possible to have a small 4 oz. of orange juice in the middle of the day or something to keep you from having the headache issues. I myself am hypoglycemic, and that is the only way I can be on a diet that is sugar restrictive. I was banded on Feb 16th, it is rough...but stick it out - I am sure all will be just fine!

    February Bandsters?

Okay, so I was banded on the 16th, along with my darling husband - we are quite envious of you all on cream soups!! We are on clear liquids only until next Thursday, and then we can start with the cream soups and mushies. Happymee, try broccoli cheddar soup or maybe even puree a potato soup? McAlister's has an amazing broccoli cheddar and potato soup that I am counting the days for!!
