It was just a little butternut squash, but he chose to use something akin to a samurai sword on it!! And we lost our $20 each at the casino.. not a lucky day..

Good evening, Violets.. We got home about 3. I was in the pool at 3:30 and floated around in the sun and warm water until 4:30. Came inside and we were getting things ready for supper. I asked Bob to cut the butternut squash in half for me. Welllllll in the midst of me getting the water ready for the sweet corn, I hear an OH SHIT.. I turned and looked and Bob had sliced his hand. I said we're going to the ER.. he said, no I don't think it's that bad. He looked at it and said... oooops.. I think we better go. Wellllll, we were there for 2 hours. He sliced an artery AND a tendon. The doc was able to sew everything back together without him having to see a hand specialist. He's now splinted and wrapped up and in pain. He had a very strong antibiotic iv'd in for a half hour. Sooooooooooo it's been a very exciting evening back home. And no squash for dinner!! He's going to have a heck of a night tonight. I feel so sorry for him. He just ordered new golf clubs and they are to arrive this week. He can't do anything with his left hand for 2 weeks at least. That means I'll be mowing the lawn and getting the garden ready for fall. YIKES!! Everyone have a good night and sleep well. I'll check in, in the morning.

Good morning, Violets.. Had a great night's sleep with NO reflux. I'm going to keep taking the antacid pill before bed and hope that continues to work. I was soooooo happy to be able to sleep on my belly and not sitting almost straight up. We're just getting around and will check out, go out for brunch and then head to the casino, the food/plant stand to get some veggies and plants for the garden and then head home. Good evening, Violets.. Had a great day today. Weather was absolutely beautiful. I got my swimming in this afternoon and it was a good thing. There are lots of kids here today for the weekend and the pool is crowded. We went to Olive Garden and ordered the neverending pasta bowl. That ended up being 1/2 a bowl for me. I had angel hair pasta with alfredo/spinach/parmesan sauce. It was great. I added italian sausage to it and thought it would be little pieces, but it ended up as two big sausages. I ate a couple of bites of one and the rest of the food got thrown away. No place to keep it here at the hotel. We just walked around the mall and did basically nothing. It's been a great get away. Tomorrow is casino day on our way home. Hope we can come away at least breaking even. we'll see. Have a great evening. Everyone sleep well!! Oh, I took two antacid pills so I hope they work!! Haven't had anything to eat since dinner at 5:30. I do NOT want another night like last night. Ever!!

I'm just back from swimming in the hotel pool and soaking in the hot tub. We went shopping today and I got some antacid to take so I don't go through another night of misery. I slept with 3 pillows and was just about sitting straight up the whole night after the incident. I can't tell you how much I hate that feeling. I had a rubbery egg and sausage here at the hotel, and for lunch I had some clam chowder and 1/2 a grilled swiss cheese sandwich. We are going to Olive garden for supper. I'll probably have the soup. The Bobster is hungry for spaghetti. We'll see how that goes! We'll hit the casino tomorrow morning on our way home. We got a beautiful birdbath for our garden yesterday. Going to stop at the same place and get some veggies to bring home. Off to check messages and then head out to the mall. Catch you later!

238 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. Woke up after two hours of sleep last night with acid reflux. That's the second night in a row. I don't know what that's about except that I'm eating/snacking just before going to bed. Will have to try really hard not to do that again. I was up from 1-3. I was scared to go back to sleep for fear that it would happen again. I gave in and slept until 8:45. We'll probably miss the free breakfast here, but I really don't feel like eating anything... ever again. Course that will change in 10 minutes. But I can't tell you how much I hate the reflux. It feels like I'm choking to death and the taste is beyond words. I thought I was done with that when I got the band. The Bobster and I are having a lazy day today. Shopping, Sam's club, casino and taking our own time doing it. Everyone have a great day!!

Hey all.. just a quick post. bob needs to use the laptop. We have a beautiful hotel room. It's a Hampton Inn and they redid top to bottom a year ago. It's a great room. We didn't do much tonight. Just dinner and then hit the pool and hot tub. tomorrow we're just going to be lazy and go window shopping and Sam's club and the casino. Bob and I talked in the hot tub about the trip in May. He's more than happy to be the designated driver of one of the vehicles. We'll probably need two unless we can get a van. It's going to be another nice get away for us. He said" are you sure they want me there?" I said.. "they all know the Bobster!! What's not to want??" ooops..that didn't come out right. Off to read and relax.. *wink,wink* Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!

Good morning, Violets. Had an episode of acid reflux last night. Probably was the deep fried walleye I had for dinner at 7:30.. arghhhhhhhhhh I HATE when that happens. I'm up at 7 waiting for Ethan and the furnace turns on. I turned the thermostat down and put on my robe. No furnace sounds until October is my rule! Weather Bug is chirping saying a frost warning for this morning. It's 40 degrees and I'm not ready for this. We have to call and have the pool shut down. Can't afford the price of gas to keep that puppy at 88 degrees in 40 degree weather!! Flute rehearsal this morning and then we leave at 2 for Traverse City. I'm taking the laptop so I don't miss anything! lol Everyone have a great day! Love ya'll!

So sad to hear another great talent has died. Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary passed away today at 72.

I'm heading to bed, ladies. I have a killer headache and need some sleep. Ethan comes early tomorrow and we leave to go out of town after he goes home at 2. Will check in, in the morning. Everyone sleep well!!

I gave Ethan a small box of Fruit Loops to eat and he gave most of them to Jetta. I had a small box of frosted Mini-wheats and they are stuck.. ugh. laura.. the guy who took their wedding pics and the pregnancy pics is taking all their special pics.. birth, 6 months, 9 months.. year. He's their good friend and he does a great job. Grady is a real cutie, but Carson, I have to admit, is one perfect looking little guy. He's gonna be such a cute little boy and handsome young man. Yikes.. I have him all grown up already!! I love the soup at hand, Tomato Parmesan bisque. I add some splenda and wah lah.. a comfort meal for me. I'd like one now, but nothing is going down with the mini-wheats stuck.

Kris just called and said Grady slept through the night again. She sounds so much more relaxed and happy. whew. She said Grady had his 6 month pictures yesterday and she has to say he's the cutest baby ever. (I didn't remind her about Carson). I'm anxious to see the pics. She said he had denim overhauls and a cowboy hat. Ethan and I are going to venture out to go swimming. It's 62 degrees out but the Water is still 88 so this should be interesting. I'm taking a bathrobe out to put on after I get out of the pool. bbl

Janie... I had a wedding back in the dark ages. I made my dress and one of the bridesmaid dresses. The rest made their own. I couldn't go online to look for anything. There wasn't an online back then. Seems like forever ago. But I think it turned out kinda well.

Haydee.. Now you've made me hungry for a Pasty!! They are such a good meal. Kris made them once with pre-made pie dough. It wasn't as good, but did work. It makes for a thinner crust. As long as you load it up with all the goodies inside, the crust is not that big a deal. At least not for bandsters. Laura.. what did you end up taking to your coworker yesterday? You guys sure have been through the wringer lately. Grady is finally sleeping through the night. Gramma told Kris to let him cry during the night. She was always getting up and picking him up and rocking and not getting any sleep at all. It was so bad she said she didn't want any more kids. But she finally listened to me and several others who said let him cry. If he's fed, bathed, changed, there is no reason to pick him up. It's now been 4 nights and he's sleeping at least 10 hours a night... FINALLY!!! He's a happier baby and Kris is definitely a happier mommy. Just wish she would have listened to me months ago! Off to figure out some lunch for Ethan and me. BBL

So far so good with mine. I got it Monday and it's a little hard spot now, but no sign of getting sick. (fingers crossed). Kudos on the exercising!! I hope to get in the pool this afternoon with Ethan. it's 57 out now, but supposed to get up into the 70's and if the sun is shining, that's just perfect for us.

Ethan and I take our Spiderman Gummy vitaminnies every day. He is not happy that Gramma gets two and he only gets one, but hey, that's life!!

Good morning, Violets.. I'm up and waiting for Ethan to arrive for the day. It's dark and dreary out, but hopefully it will brighten up as it gets later in the morning. In my previous life I would have already been up for 3 hours, driven 62 miles to school and would be waiting for the munchkins to arrive. I'm very happy I'm home on the computer talking to the Vi's. Good evening, Violets.. Just back from my singing rehearsal. Our concert is on the 27th so we're getting down to crunch time. Actually we are sounding pretty good. Just a couple of glitches in a couple of pieces. Once those get cleared up it will sound really good. We're singing things like Fields of Gold, Don't Know Why (Nora Jones version), Moon River, The Way We Were and lots more. All of it is acapella. Haydee.. the church is in negotiation with the consultant to see if he will accept our proposal for him to come and try and "fix" the problem. My method of fixing would be to say.. this isn't working out.. you need to leave. But what do I know? He'll be here for at least another 3 months. I just don't get it. If you knew that you were splitting the church, wouldn't you gracefully bow out for the good of the church?? Apparently it's all about him in his mind. Suzy... good job on the exercise. When the pool gets closed up, I'll be on my Trikke for as long as the weather holds. Tomorrow is choir rehearsal and then Bob and I are leaving Thursday afternoon for a mini-get away. We're heading to Traverse City.. 2.5 hours away just to leave all the stress behind for awhile. We'll be back Saturday night. Off to watch some tv and relax a bit before bed. Ethan comes early tomorrow for the day. Everyone sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Boy, we have lots of Vi's MIA, don't we??? I just got back from fimmin with Ethan. We didn't stay out as long because it's downright cool out there. At least the pool water is still warm so I got my exercising in and just a little relaxing time when the sun came out. Certainly wasn't a lot. Probably only one more week of the pool and then it's closed up for the season. With all the earlier trouble with the heater, it's been so nice to have everything working right for the last month or so. Suzy..good luck with the job!! My fingers are crossed for you and TracyinKs to get the jobs you want. Things are not going well at my church. Salaries are going to be cut and programs as well to try and balance the budget. It's going to be a very stressful time and I'm looking at being done next June at the end of the choir season. The church is just not the same place anymore. I don't feel the joy and comfort I used to. I'd much rather be somewhere worshiping with the Bobster. That's impossible right now because he has chosen to stay away during this time of conflict so as not to muddy the waters, so to speak. PamELa... have you been to a doctor????? Sure feel bad that you're not feeling well and still have all those things to do. Jenn.. I got my flu shot yesterday. Not the swine flu shot.. just the regular. Hospital volunteers get them for free. I didn't get one last year, but I don't want to take the risk this year. Jane... I ate a whole crunch wrap from Taco Bell yesterday. I need to get my head back in the game. Arghhhhhh Haydee.. sorry you had to be the one to get up so early. Do they have any leads on who might have done it? Kat.. I was so pleased to hear the report about Rick.. health and job.
