  1. Thanks so much Mary.. I'm just sitting here waiting to leave at noon. We're in no rush to go. We'll just be sitting in a hotel room all evening so might as well stay here as long as possible.
  2. Sherri.. I'm sorry you couldn't get the 23rd.. did they say why it had to be rescheduled???
  3. Christy, I'll be getting home either the day before or the day of your surgery. I'll be praying for you too and we all know the power of prayer!! I don't know for sure when surgery is to begin, but I'm guessing 9:30 or 10. Either way, by this time tomorrow I should be in recovery!! I'm still in awe.. not nervous.. just very excited!!!
  4. Believe me Jenn, the time will go FAST!!! I can't believe I will be banded tomorrow morning. It seems like I just started researching the option and now here I am getting banded!! Just wish they had this 30 years ago, but better late than never!!!
  5. I'd give you a big high five if I could for that weight loss, Sara!! Great start!!!:clap2: :cheer2:
  6. Househuntress... You are in my prayers and will be just fine! Today is the start of a brand new life and just think what you'll be like a few short months from now! We'll be waiting to see your before and after pics. I just got a call from the hospital and I have to be there at 8:30 tomorrow morning. If all goes well, I'll be back here Wednesday. At least that's what I'm shooting for. I told the nurse what wonderful people and great advice I found on this site and she was impressed with everything I already knew because of what I've read here. So kudos to everyone here for all your information and support. And Househuntress.. you go girl!!!!!
  7. Ok folks.. I just got in from my last dip in the hot tub before surgery. Any estimates on when I can get back in there and soak up the heat??? It's soooooo nice when there is snow on the ground (I know it's April, but somebody messed up!!) to be able to sit in the hot tub and look up at the stars.
  8. So Terri.. did you remember to chew??:hungry:
  9. Hey welcome!!! I'm 59, 5'5', 233# and will be banded on Tuesday here in Michigan. And I LOVE Rving.. just don't happen to have a motor home. We have a trailer, but my dream has been to own a motor home and just go!!! I've been dreaming about my band lately and that's coming true so who knows?? Anyway glad to have you aboard and do come to the April 2007, Head Start to Spring thread under the General Discussion forum. Lots of great people there who will be or have been banded in April. Judy
  10. Hey Phil.. my DH is a pastor too. He's trying to get the lap band, but has to wait for a pre-auth which we are told will take up to 14 weeks. My surgery is Tuesday. He'll be there for me as he has for the last 37 years. He's my rock.
  11. And I'm right behind you on the 10th!! Keep in touch and we'll compare surgeries!! Best of luck and prayers to you for a swift, smooth recovery...
  12. Are you like an author or sumfin???... an English major in college???......able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?? Your responses are always so well thought out and articulated and inspirational to read. Keep 'em coming!!!
  13. Well, I'm a retired female Kindergarten Teacher.... sooooooooo Wah Lah.. Teachlady!!
  14. One more night's sleep here at my house and then we are off to the hospital on Monday. The hospital is 4 hours away so we are leaving Monday afternoon and surgery is Tuesday morning. My bags are packed, I'm ready to go, took my before pics and will be headed out the door TOMORROW!!! Can't believe it will finally be here, though my wait hasn't been as long as some. I started this process in January. Just hope the weight comes off as quickly as the process went. I am determined and will stick to the bandster rules by the letter. Happy Easter to everyone and prayers and CONGRATS to all those who will have surgery this week. Judy
  15. HAHAHAHA!!! We can only wish, can't we??
  16. The only people I told were our church organist (I'm the choir director), the couple that we cruise with and my family. Nobody else needs to know as far as I'm concerned. That makes it that much more fun when the weight loss starts showing and people ask what how I've done it. Oh and of course the hundreds of people on this site know about it too!!:biggrin1:
  17. I know the feeling.. I am on 3 other message boards related to cruising and I check them once or twice a day, but this board..... yikes.. I'm on it alllll the time! My name is Judy and I'm a lapbandtalk.com -aholic!!
  18. I think I'll stick with my addiction to this site. No calories and no guilt!! Ok.. so the house work doesn't get done, but my computer table is very well organized now and the monitor is squeaky clean!!
  19. Just went into the chat room and two left as I came in..
  20. Just go to www.Tickerfactory.com and follow the directions..
  21. Anyone else have the problem of not walking past the computer without sitting down to check to see the latest posts in here?? ARGHHHHHHHH!! But you're right, I too have learned sooooooooooooo much from this site and all the participants. Lots and lots of support and inspiration here!
  22. Ok, so talk now is that when one gives up one addiction, another takes its place. Sooooooooo when my addiction to food is removed, ummmmmmmm is addiction to this site a bad thing???? :biggrin1: :biggrin1:
  23. Thanks Kat!! I guess I'm a bit anal cause I just checked my pre-op checklist from the Doctor again to make sure when I was supposed to call to verify the time of surgery. :loco:
  24. Betty, you are my role model!!! I'm going into this surgery at 5'4", 233# wearing a 3X top and 2X bottom and 59 years old. If I can be like you in a year, and I WILL try my darndest, I will be absolutely thrilled!!! I've been hoping for a banding buddy who is going into surgery my same date, but it looks like I'm the only one on the 10th. BUT, I'd love to adopt you, at least as a mentor.
  25. Three days til surgery and I'm very excited. I dreamed last night that I was ready for surgery. I looked around and it was my garage and the nurse came and poked a needle through the palm of my hand and then I waited and waited. Seems I forgot to call the day before to make sure of the time of the surgery. :faint: Sure hope this dream stays a dream!! At least you know I'll call the day before for sure!!
